Week 5 is coming in fast and as the NFL season rolls along, a lot of teams are dealing with rosters littered with banged-up players.

In fact, 14 different teams have at least 10 players listed on this week’s injury report, not including players who sat out for rest. That is led by the Titans, who have 23 players currently nursing a variety of injuries. Be sure to check out our Injured Reserve tracker and reserve/COVID-19 list tracker to stay up-to-date on all the non-roster injuries.

Here is a game-by-game breakdown of all the major injury headlines as we enter Week 5:

– The Jets secondary is in a bit of flux after Jarrod Wilson was moved from the active roster to the practice squad on Friday. Marcus Maye will be absent on Sunday as he deals with legal issues.

Ashtyn Davis and Sharrod Neasman are the only healthy safeties on the active roster, although Wilson could be elevated on gameday and start for the second-straight week.

– Linebacker Blake Cashman returned to practice this week and could take Wilson’s roster spot if activated off the IR. Cashman has been sidelined with a hamstring injury since Week 1.

– The Falcons receiving corps has been decimated with injuries and both Russell Gage and Calvin Ridley have been ruled out for Sunday’s game.

Gage hasn’t played since injuring his ankle in Week 2 and Ridley left the team late this week to tend to a personal matter. Olamide Zaccheaus is expected to see an uptick in targets, he had an eight-catch performance against the Packers last year.

Tajae Sharpe and Christian Blake seem like the logical candidates to replace Gage and Ridley on the outside when Zaccheaus moves to the slot.

– The Saints will play another game without their starting left tackle or starting center. James Hurst performed well at left tackle last week, earning an 84.5 pass-blocking grade from Pro Football Focus.

It hasn’t been as easy for Cesar Ruiz at center. Through four starts, his 56.3 overall grade from PFF ranks among the bottom 11 at his position.

– The Washington offense is banged up with Logan Thomas landing on the IR with a hamstring injury and Brandon Scherff being ruled out of action due to a knee injury.

Veteran Ricky Seals-Jones should start at tight end after 93 percent of the offensive snaps last week. He has just three catches this season for 38 yards and hasn’t posted more than 20 catches in a season since 2018.

Wes Schweitzer will start at right guard for Scherff. He has experience, but struggled last week, allowing two pressures and a quarterback hit in limited action.

Expect Samaje Perine to start for the Bengals instead. After rushing for 22 yards on five carries in Week 1, Perine has just six carries and two catches in the last three weeks.

Mike Vrabel and company didn’t make many friends here by listing 23 players on the injury report this week, four of whom ended up on the IR by week’s end.

– The big name missing will be Julio Jones, although the return of A.J. Brown should help a floundering passing attack that averaged just 6.1 yards per attempt against the Jets last week.

Jacksonville has allowed the third-most yards to wide receivers this season.

– As for Chark, he’s seen just seven targets since receiving a dozen looks from Trevor Lawrence in Week 1.

Marvin Jones and Laviska Shenault will continue to be the main focus of Jacksonville’s passing attack against a Titans secondary that has allowed 944 yards and eight touchdowns this year. Both numbers are worst in the league.

– The Lions also moved Romeo Okwara to the IR, but he will miss the season after tearing his Achilles last week. Now without their best pass-rusher, Detroit will rely more on Charles Harris, who has 11 quarterback pressures and leads the team with three sacks.

Austin Bryant and Julian Okwara should see more snaps as the season progresses.

– Defensively, it looks like things are getting better for Tampa Bay, both Jamel Dean and Jason Pierre-Paul will return after missing the last couple weeks.

Expect Dean to start at cornerback opposite Richard Sherman with Carlton Davis headed to the IR. Pierre-Paul will rejoin a pass rush that ranks in the top-10 of quarterback pressures.

While it may seem unusual to move your best tackle to the right side, Dillard has struggled at right tackle, but has thrived on the left side this season. The Eagles’ offensive line needs to be stout against a Panthers defense that is fourth in the NFL in quarterback pressures.

– Despite sounding optimistic he would be available this week, Christian McCaffrey is doubtful to return against the Eagles. This will be the second game he will miss after straining his hamstring against the Texans.

The Eagles have allowed the most rushing yards to running backs this season, which bodes well for Chuba Hubbard. The rookie rushed for 57 yards on 13 carries last week in his first NFL start.

– With Cam Erving out, either Trent Scott or Brady Christensen will start at left tackle on Sunday. Scott has 14 career starts under his belt, nine of which came at left tackle for the Chargers in 2019.

Christensen, a rookie, was a third-round pick out of BYU and has played just four offensive snaps in his young career.

With Shaq Mason also ruled out, David Andrews is the only starting offensive lineman expected to play. Yasir Durant could play left tackle while Ted Karras and Yodny Cajuste man the guard spots.

Hudson played his first 21 NFL snaps in Week 4, allowing a pair of hurries in relief of Wills.

Greedy Williams had a great return to the starting lineup last week, intercepting a pass and earning an 87.0 coverage grade from PFF. He will start again with Greg Newsome still out.
