Two of the most popular NFL bets this season are First Touchdown Scorer and Anytime Touchdown Scorer.
Every week during the NFL season, our experts will give you their prediction on which player they think will score the first TD for every game.
These prop bets can be difficult to predict, but they are a fan favorite among many NFL bettors.
What is a first touchdown scorer bet?
To win this bet, you must correctly pick the player to score the first touchdown in the game — the first player who receives a touchdown pass or crosses the goal line with the ball.
A touchdown scorer is defined as the player in possession of the ball in the end zone and not the player who throws the TD.
What is an anytime touchdown scorer bet?
To win this NFL bet, you must correctly pick a player who will score a touchdown. Similar to first touchdown bets, the player is the one who crosses the end zone himself, not the QB who throws to that player.

First & Anytime Touchdown Scorer Predictions & Bets for Week 2
Packers vs. Commanders 1st TD Scorer Bet Prediction:
Deebo Samuel (WR, Commanders) is our pick for the first TD scorer bet (+1100)
We saw the full gamut from Deebo Samuel in his first game with the Commanders. He led the team with 10 targets (34.5% target share), catching 7 of those for 77 yards, and scored on a 19-yard carry to ice the game. Samuel has not always been a target earner near the end zone, but his Week 1 usage suggests he will be a big part of the game plan moving forward.
Packers vs. Commanders Anytime TD Scorer Bet Prediction:
Romeo Doubs (WR, Packers) is our pick for the anytime TD scorer bet (+195)
Josh Jacobs is the safest touchdown bet in the league right now, but he is priced that way at -220. Tucker Kraft and Jayden Reed got the touchdowns in Week 1, but Romeo Doubs ran a route on 73.9% of the dropbacks and was also targeted in the end zone. Doubs has 12 touchdowns in 29 games played with Jordan Love over the last three seasons.
Bengals vs. Jaguars 1st TD Scorer Bet Prediction:
Brian Thomas Jr. (WR, Jaguars) is our pick for the first TD scorer bet (+1000)
While not as productive as his fellow receivers in terms of yardage last week, Thomas Jr. still garnered the second-highest target share behind only Travis Hunter. Liam Coen announced on Wednesday that Hunter will be seeing more snaps on defense in Week 2, so we could see a dip in production from his 8-target debut. The door is open and the value is there. He just has to catch the ball.
Bengals vs. Jaguars Anytime TD Scorer Bet Prediction:
Tee Higgins (WR, Bengals) is our pick for the anytime TD scorer bet (+130)
Higgins led his team with 33 yards on 3 receptions in what turned out to be a slow receiving game for the unit as a whole against Cleveland. The Bengals, who led the league in this metric last season, posted a measly total of 113 air yards against their division rivals on Sunday. Higgins caught 67% of his targets, scoring on 13.7% of those receptions, last season. If Jacksonville's 30th-ranked secondary leaves Joe Burrow room to spread the ball around, Higgins' upside can't be ignored.
Cowboys vs. Giants 1st TD Scorer Bet Prediction:
Javonte Williams (RB, Cowboys) is our pick for the first TD scorer bet (+600)
Javonte Williams’ silver-and-blue debut saw 31.8% of Cowboys rushing attempts (15 out of 22 contributed by Williams) go for either first downs or touchdowns. He led the way with 54 yards and 2 scores against the Eagles. He’ll face the Giants next, who just surrendered 220 yards and 2 touchdowns to Washington on 32 carries.
Cowboys vs. Giants Anytime TD Scorer Bet Prediction:
CeeDee Lamb (WR, Cowboys) is our pick for the anytime TD scorer bet (+105)
Three incomplete targets hit the turf at the feet of CeeDee Lamb on the Cowboys’ final drive in Philadelphia last Thursday, with the game-ending turnover on downs coming after just 7 plays. Lamb was reportedly seen taking reps at the jugs machine early the next morning as he tries to make up for the drops that undercut his 7-110-0 night against the Birds. If he’s able to more than double the next closest target share like he did in Week 1, he could deal a lot more damage on the box score against a softer target.
Lions vs. Bears 1st TD Scorer Bet Prediction:
Jahmyr Gibbs (RB, Lions) is our pick for the first TD scorer bet (+370)
While he didn’t see as many carries as David Montgomery in Week 1, we did see Gibbs’ usage in the receiving game take its first steps toward the new look John Morton outlined before the season. Gibbs surpassed 9 targets in a single game for just the third time in his career, catching all 10 of his looks for a career high in single-game receptions. Detroit will look to expand on this as they try to jumpstart their offense in their home opener against Chicago, a team that Gibbs has scored on 3 times in 4 career meetings.
Lions vs. Bears Anytime TD Scorer Bet Prediction:
Olamide Zaccheaus (WR, Bears) is our pick for the anytime TD scorer bet (+360)
A consistent WR3, Zaccheaus was largely unused by the Eagles in 2023. He found some production again with Washington in 2024, posting 506 receiving yards on 45 catches. Now, after a 4-42-0 night to start the season (2nd on the team in targets, receptions, and yards), he’s off to his hottest start since 2022, when he got 5 games into the season before he dropped a pass.
Titans vs. Rams 1st TD Scorer Bet Prediction:
Davante Adams (WR, Rams) is our pick for the first TD scorer bet (+650)
Overshadowed by Puka Nacua’s 10-130-0 performance, Adams was the only other Rams receiver to register more than 2 targets or 36 yards last week against Houston. The Titans proved to be a tough team to pass against, picking off Bo Nix twice during last Sunday’s trip to Denver, but you don’t break 1,000 receiving yards in 5 straight seasons without overcoming some hot defenses.
Titans vs. Rams Anytime TD Scorer Bet Prediction:
Tony Pollard (RB, Titans) is our pick for the anytime TD scorer bet (+140)
Tony Pollard was all over the field for the Titans in Denver last Sunday…except the end zone. The former Cowboy accounted for 18 of Tennessee's 21 total rushing attempts (no other back saw more than one) as well as one of Cam Ward’s 12 completions. Ward was sacked 6 times for a combined loss of 50 yards in Week 1, and the Rams' young front seven is as adept as anyone in the art of bringing the heat. Look for Pollard to try to lighten the load for his rookie field general.
Dolphins vs. Patriots 1st TD Scorer Bet Prediction:
Hunter Henry (TE, Patriots) is our pick for the first TD scorer bet (+1400)
A three-way Patriot tie at 6 receptions for the team lead may have left Henry in fourth with 4, but his 8-target tie with Kayshon Boutte leads New England’s admittedly lackluster passing attack in Week 1. Week 2’s matchup may allow him a more productive week at this target share, as the Dolphins gave up 8 receptions on 10 targets for 97 yards to Colts tight ends on Sunday.
Dolphins vs. Patriots Anytime TD Scorer Bet Prediction:
De'Von Achane (RB, Dolphins) is our pick for the anytime TD scorer bet (-110)
DeVon Achane caught Miami’s only touchdown in Sunday’s blowout loss to the Colts, taking his 3 receptions and 7 carries for 75 total yards. The Patriots only surrendered 56 yards and a touchdown to the Raiders on the ground last week, but the last time these two teams faced off, Achane caught 3 of 4 targets for 2 touchdowns while rushing for just 32 yards.
Saints vs. 49ers 1st TD Scorer Bet Prediction:
Ricky Pearsall (WR, 49ers) is our pick for the first TD scorer bet (+900)
Pearsall was faced with a whirlwind of expectations heading into Week 1, and he came out the other side as one of just 9 wideouts in the league to break 100 yards in the first game of the season. Of those 9, Pearsall achieved the milestone with the fewest targets and receptions, catching 4 of 7. With Brandon Aiyuk still out and Jauan Jennings’ shoulder injury worse than anticipated, we could see a repeat performance against the Saints, whose secondary ranked 27th in our 2025 Secondary Rankings.
Saints vs. 49ers Anytime TD Scorer Bet Prediction:
Juwan Johnson (TE, Saints) is our pick for the anytime TD scorer bet (+320)
The veritable CeeDee Lamb of tight ends in Week 1, Juwan Johnson’s big receiving day against Arizona was also subsequently undone by a pair of crucial drops, setting up the game-losing turnover on downs. The day Johnson had before those drops, however, was also CeeDee-esque. Johnson caught 8 of 11 targets, averaging 9.5 yards per reception in what was his third career game going for over 70 yards. Johnson could continue to benefit from the Spencer Rattler connection.
Jets vs. Bills 1st TD Scorer Bet Prediction:
Khalil Shakir (WR, Bills) is our pick for the first TD scorer bet (+950)
After a big second-half for receiving ended in a 15-point comeback victory, Shakir was one of three Buffalo receivers to crack 9 targets Sunday night. Trailing only Keon Coleman in looks and yards through one week, the Bills' WR1 finds himself matched up against a Jets defensive unit that allowed 244 yards and a league-high 4 scores through the air on Sunday.
Jets vs. Bills Anytime TD Scorer Bet Prediction:
Breece Hall (RB, Jets) is our pick for the anytime TD scorer bet (+140)
As expected, Justin Fields’ affinity for the run did eat into Hall's production slightly, but not enough to stop him from becoming one of just 3 backs to surpass 100 yards rushing after just one game. Fields and Braelon Allen may have handled all of Gang Green’s rushing scores in Week 1, but this Sunday’s matchup could provide even more opportunities on the ground. The Bills gave up 238 rushing yards (league-most) and 3 touchdowns to the Ravens on Sunday, and Hall is already third in yards behind Derrick Henry.
Steelers vs. Seahawks 1st TD Scorer Bet Prediction:
DK Metcalf (WR, Steelers) is our pick for the first TD scorer bet (+650)
Metcalf was one of the biggest beneficiaries of Aaron Rodgers’ clean pocket in New York last week. He led the team in targets and yards with 4 receptions. He’ll be visited by his former squad on Sunday, who allowed the fourth-highest completion percentage and the seventh-most passing yards in their loss to the battle-damaged 49ers last week.
Steelers vs. Seahawks Anytime TD Scorer Bet Prediction:
Zach Charbonnet (RB, Seahawks) is our pick for the anytime TD scorer bet (+190)
While he was slated to begin another season backing up Kenneth Walker III, Charbonnet kicked off 2025 by surpassing Walker’s carry count, more than doubling his yards, and scoring Seattle’s only touchdown. Pittsburgh posted the fifth-worst total defensive EPA per rush last week, so it stands to reason that if he retains the lion's share of touches in Week 2, the scores will follow.
Ravens vs. Browns 1st TD Scorer Bet Prediction:
Derrick Henry (RB, Ravens) is our pick for the first TD scorer bet (+285)
Cleveland tied Green Bay for the league’s fewest rushing yards allowed in Week 1 with just 46, holding Chase Brown to an average of 2.0 yards per carry. If they hope to uphold this standard through Week 2, they’ll have to do so against the league’s leading rusher. Henry opened the season with 169 yards and 2 scores on 18 carries against the team with the 10th-highest success rate against the run in 2024. In his two games against the Browns last year, Henry combined for 211 yards and 3 touchdowns on just 31 total carries.
Ravens vs. Browns Anytime TD Scorer Bet Prediction:
Lamar Jackson (QB, Ravens) is our pick for the anytime TD scorer bet (+120)
In his seven starts against Cleveland since 2021, Jackson has never registered fewer than 8 carries in a single game. The 2023 NFL MVP rushed for 4 scores last year, and his 915 rushing yards made up his highest total since his 1,005-yard season in 2020, when he posted 7 rushing touchdowns.
Colts vs. Broncos 1st TD Scorer Bet Prediction:
Tyler Warren (TE, Colts) is our pick for the first TD scorer bet (+1200)
Leading the team in targets and even getting involved in the rushing game in his rookie debut, Warren found ways to make an impact on the stat sheet just one game into his rookie season. Denver opened the year strong in the defensive backfield, allowing the league’s fewest passing yards to Cam Ward and the Titans. Seven-year veteran Daniel Jones may provide a bit more of a challenge, especially with his favorite new target on this new-look offense.
Colts vs. Broncos Anytime TD Scorer Bet Prediction:
RJ Harvey (RB, Broncos) is our pick for the anytime TD scorer bet (+165)
Harvey rushed just 6 times in Week 1 but still managed 70 yards, 7 more than J.K. Dobbins despite registering 10 fewer carries than the former Charger. The Colts did so much right in their game on Sunday that it’s easy to overlook the fact that they ranked dead last in defensive success against the run in Week 1 at just 40%. If a 50-yard sprint wasn’t enough of a coming-out party, we could see even more fireworks from the rookie this weekend.
Cardinals vs. Panthers 1st TD Scorer Bet Prediction:
James Conner (RB, Cardinals) is our pick for the first TD scorer bet (+425)
Though not as productive in terms of yardage as Trey Benson on Sunday, Conner did see 4 more carries as well as 3 more receptions than his second-year teammate. Benson may continue to see an increased role in this offense, but it's unlikely he’ll usurp Conner, a back-to-back 1,000-yard rusher with at least 7 scores in each of the last three seasons, in any immediate capacity. Carolina’s -4.59 total defensive EPA per rush should leave some room to spread the ball around anyway.
Cardinals vs. Panthers Anytime TD Scorer Bet Prediction:
Chuba Hubbard (RB, Panthers) is our pick for the anytime TD scorer bet (+105)
The Panthers’ leading rusher was also their second-most impactful receiver on Sunday as Hubbard accounted for 86 of Carolina’s 267 total yards. Carolina’s only score of the day came on the last of his 3 receptions, 1 catch shy of the 4-reception game he had the last time these two teams met. Hubbard rushed for 152 yards and 2 scores in that affair, an overtime victory for the Panthers just 10 months ago.
Chiefs vs. Eagles 1st TD Scorer Bet Prediction:
Saquon Barkley (RB, Eagles) is our pick for the first TD scorer bet (+105)
In the NFL’s season opener, Barkley did what he did so well 13 times last season, breaking a 10-yard run for a score in the final minute of the second quarter and granting his team a halftime lead that was not surrendered for the rest of the game. The last time these two teams met saw a similar success story for Barkley (without the touchdown but with a lot more confetti and a Lombardi Trophy) as he led the Birds in targets and receptions, trailing only Jalen Hurts in all-purpose yards with 97.
Chiefs vs. Eagles Anytime TD Scorer Bet Prediction:
A.J. Brown (WR, Eagles) is our pick for the anytime TD scorer bet (+175)
A.J. Brown sparked concern after he was targeted just once in Week 1 for 8 yards. Outpaced by teammates DeVonta Smith and Jahan Dotson, the Eagles’ perceived WR1 will look to jumpstart his 2025 campaign in earnest against Kansas City, as he scored on one of his 3 catches when these teams fought for all the marbles back in February.
Vikings vs. Falcons 1st TD Scorer Bet Prediction:
Kyle Pitts (TE, Falcons) is our pick for the first TD scorer bet (+1700)
Kyle Pitts hasn’t exceeded 7 catches since October of 2024. He hasn’t gone for more than 55 yards in a single game since early November of last season. He did both in Week 1 against Tampa, and he’ll look to continue this relative hot streak against Minnesota, who allowed 43 yards on 3 catches to tight ends in their Week 1 matchup with the Bears.
Vikings vs. Falcons Anytime TD Scorer Bet Prediction:
Jordan Mason (RB, Vikings) is our pick for the anytime TD scorer bet (+115)
While not as active in the passing game as teammate Aaron Jones, Mason had a significantly better day on the ground. Jones took 8 carries for just 23 yards (a total J.J. McCarthy beat with just two rushing attempts) compared to Mason’s 15 attempts for 68 yards. Minnesota is toeing the line between a split backfield and a new RB1.
Texans vs. Bucs 1st TD Scorer Bet Prediction:
Bucky Irving (RB, Bucs) is our pick for the first TD scorer bet (+600)
Emeka Egbuka’s debut heroics may have averted some eyes from Irving’s performance, and why wouldn’t it? The rookie caught 2 touchdowns. It’s only natural that the only other guy on the scoresheet for the winning team gets swept under the rug to a certain degree. That being said, Irving’s impact on the Week 1 win can’t be ignored. He caught all 4 of his targets for a touchdown and 8 air yards and trailed only Baker Mayfield in rushing yards with 37 on 14 carries.
Texans vs. Bucs Anytime TD Scorer Bet Prediction:
Nico Collins (WR, Texans) is our pick for the anytime TD scorer bet (+145)
A hamstring injury sidelined him for over a month last year, but Collins hasn’t lost a step since he returned last November. In fact, Collins’ 3-25-0 stat line in the opener constitutes one of his slower games in terms of box score impact since the injury. In the 8 games since he went down against Buffalo in Week 5 of last year, Collins has averaged 4.8 catches for 58 yards per game with 4 total touchdowns.
Raiders vs. Chargers 1st TD Scorer Bet Prediction:
Ladd McConkey (WR, Chargers) is our pick for the first TD scorer bet (+900)
Quentin Johnston found his hands in Sao Paulo last Friday for two touchdowns, warding off any more “draft bust” rhetoric until at least Sunday. That pair of scores ended up overshadowing a similarly productive game for Ladd McConkey. The former Georgia Bulldog was targeted twice more than Johnston for 1 more reception and just 5 fewer yards. If McConkey continues to see similar goal-to-go usage as he did last season (targeted on a team-high 35.7% of plays inside the 10 in 2024), he’s likely to find himself with a two-score day of his own before the season is over.
Raiders vs. Chargers Anytime TD Scorer Bet Prediction:
Brock Bowers (TE, Raiders) is our pick for the anytime TD scorer bet (+195)
Last year’s tight end receiving leader treated viewers to a 5-catch, 103-yard clinic in Foxborough on Sunday. Wreaking havoc over the middle throughout the contest, Bowers averaged 20.6 yards per reception against New England. The Chargers' secondary provides a deeper challenge, but Bowers managed 108 yards on 10 catches in his two games against them last season.
