Week 3 of the NFL DFS season has arrived, and it is time to win some big money using stacks.
While fantasy football stacks are becoming more prevalent in redraft leagues, the ability to stack players has always been one of the main strategic plays in daily fantasy.
This weekly article will focus on the best stack plays in a given week for DFS.
While these plays can apply to FanDuel and other daily fantasy sites, this article will focus primarily on DraftKings pricing.
What is stacking in DFS?
A fantasy football stack is when you take two or more players from the same team to double your chances of a big score if that team does well. This is a strategy that is especially useful in games with high over unders.
While you can stack a quarterback with a running back and or a tight end, we’ll be focusing on the best stacks available between a quarterback and his pass catchers.
What is most important when stacking in DFS?
What is most important to pay attention to, with or without stacking, is a player's cost and their ultimate output of points.
Ultimately, factoring in the elements of stacking players along with a strong return on investment on players' costs will put you in the best position to cash in this season.

Week 3 NFL DFS Stacks & Picks for DraftKings, FanDuel
Without further ado, here are some of the best DFS stack options for Week 3 of the 2025 NFL season:
QB Dak Prescott ($5,900) & WR George Pickens ($5,900)
- Combined Price: $11,800 – 23.5% of lineup salary
Dak Prescott and the Cowboys will face a Bears team that has been hit hard by opposing offenses.
In just two games, the defense has allowed 23.9% of the fantasy points to quarterbacks that they gave up all of last season, a complete turnaround.
After J.J. McCarthy scored 23.2 points in a comeback effort against the Bears, their defense responded by allowing Jared Goff to throw for 5 touchdowns.
A large reason as to why they are being dominated is the Bears' pass rush, sitting at 30th in pressure rate.
This is a prime opportunity for Prescott to have his second-straight game with more than 20 points scored.
With the expectation that CeeDee Lamb will be heavily rostered, spending $2,900 less for George Pickens could help you fill out the rest of your roster.
Seemingly getting more comfortable with Prescott, Pickens went from 4 targets in Week 1 to 9 this past Sunday.
This led to Pickens scoring his first touchdown as a member of the Cowboys and putting up 17.8 fantasy points.
Along with the Bears giving up a considerable amount of fantasy points to quarterbacks, they also allowed 71.2 points to wide receivers in Week 2.
QB Brock Purdy ($6,000) & WR Ricky Pearsall ($5,500)
- Combined Price: $11,500 – 23% of lineup salary
The obvious disclaimer is that, as of this writing, Brock Purdy has practiced this week and has a chance to play this weekend.
If Purdy is unable to go, I would have no issue pivoting to Mac Jones at $5,000.
The 49ers did not skip a beat against the Saints, with Jones throwing for 3 touchdowns and totaling 22.76 points.
Regardless of who is playing quarterback for the 49ers, the Cardinals secondary is dealing with multiple injuries.
There are currently at least three players in their secondary who are out or not participating in practice.
The injuries were evident this past weekend when the Cardinals allowed 51.4 fantasy points to wide receivers, the seventh-most in the league.
You could spend $500 less for Jauan Jennings, but you would need to monitor his ankle and shoulder.
In a point per reception format, Ricky Pearsall is in line to be heavily targeted and record his second game with over 100 yards receiving this season.
Even with the change in quarterback last week, Pearsall had only 1 fewer target than he did in Week 1.
QB Drake Maye ($5,300) & WR Stefon Diggs ($4,800)
- Combined Price: $10,100 – 20.2% of lineup salary
Drake Maye truthers were rewarded this past week when the Patriots' signal caller was the third-highest scoring quarterback.
Completing 19 or 23 passes for 230 yards and 2 touchdowns, Maye scored 26.3 points, his second 20-point game of his career.
Looking to make it three, Maye will go up against a Steelers defense allowing the fifth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks.
Stefon Diggs had 2 fewer targets in Week 2 than he did in the season opener, but his targets per route run have been on the rise.
Also encouraging is that his projected ownership on DraftKings is currently around 3%.
While having trouble against quarterbacks, the Steelers are also one of eight teams to allow more than 30 points to wide receivers in each of the first two weeks.
Even with Kayshon Boutte having a higher route participation (78.97%) than Diggs’ 64.47%, it is a matter of time before Diggs takes over as the WR1 in New England.
Week 3 is that time.
