  • The Bears accrued one net passing yard in Week 3, the fewest in the league since the Bengals in Week 17, 2009 (zero) and their fewest as a franchise since Week 1981 (-20).
  • The Bears have just two offensive plays that have gained 20 or more yards through three weeks, the fewest in the NFL.
  • Chicago is averaging 2.7 yards per passing play, the fewest in the NFL. The next closest (Miami) is averaging 4.7 yards.
  • Chicago is averaging 2.9 yards per passing play on first down (the fewest in the league) while allowing 10.8 yards per passing play on first downs, the highest in the league.
  • Detroit is allowing 8.9 yards per passing play, the most in the league.

Quarterback

Bears QB: Matt Nagy has already suggested that any and all of Andy Dalton, Justin Fields, and even Nick Foles could see first-team reps this week, officially leaving the Bears as the John Travolta meme in looking for an offensive plan.

This passing game could not be any worse as they have even been worse than Jets to open the year on a per-play basis. Chicago quarterbacks have been hit or taken a sack on 29.6% of their dropbacks, the highest rate in the league.

Fields made his first career start last week and had no chance, taking nine sacks and completing 6-of-20 passes for 68 yards. Even with Fields’s strong rushing ability, we see that his floor is not safe in this offensive environment.

Detroit is a matchup that can offer some upside to a streamer as they are 31st in passing points allowed per attempt (0.72) and an 8.3% touchdown rate (30th). Fields would be a rushing-based QB2 dart if he draws the start again, but this offense has not given us any faith to invest in.
