Trust = spike production for that player

Quarterback

Jared Goff (TRUST): Goff has been under duress in recent games.

He has been sacked 9 times in the past two games against Minnesota and Tampa Bay.

He has now been sacked on 7.0% of his dropbacks, his highest rate since his rookie season.

He has been pressured on over 40% of his dropbacks in four games already this season.

Last year, that happened once.

Brian Flores threw a ton of interior blitzes at the Detroit offensive line, which lost guard Christian Mahogany for the foreseeable future.

Taylor Decker also exited the game on Sunday.

When Goff was pressured on Sunday, he was 7 of 13 (53.8%) for 72 yards (5.5 Y/A).

Under pressure in Week 7, he was 5 of 10 for 47 yards (4.7 Y/A).

When he was kept clean last week, Goff was 18 of 24 (75%) for 212 yards (8.8 Y/A) with 2 touchdowns.

In Week 7, when he was kept clean, he was 15 of 19 (78.9%) for 194 yards (10.2 Y/A) with a touchdown.

For the season, Goff has an 83.3% completion rate with 8.6 Y/A with 17 touchdowns and 1 interception without pressure.

The offensive line injuries remain a concern, but this matchup lines up for Goff.

Washington is 21st in pressure rate over their past five games (33.9%) and has been ravaged defensively by injuries.

A week after placing Dorance Armstrong on injured reserve, Marshon Lattimore suffered an ACL injury on Sunday night.

Goff is eighth in the NFL in rate of play-action passing (27.5%).

Using play action, Goff is third in the NFL with 9.3 yards per pass attempt, completing 75.8% of his passes (5th).

Washington has crushed on play action this season, allowing 9.1 yards per pass attempt (26th), 13.8 yards per completion (31st), and a 10.4% touchdown rate (29th).

The Commanders are allowing 18.3 passing points per game, ahead of only the Cowboys (20.2).

Over their past four games, they have allowed QB1 scoring weeks to Caleb Williams (19.9 points), Dak Prescott (23.3), Patrick Mahomes (23), and Sam Darnold (27.2).

Marcus Mariota: Mariota is taking over as the starter after Jayden Daniels suffered a dislocated elbow on Sunday night.

Washington has been bludgeoned by injuries this season, and the team appears to be a mark for a lost year ending on a down note.

This will be Mariota’s fourth start of the year.

He has finished as QB6 (20.3 points), QB16 (16.2 points), and QB20 (11.3 points) in his previous three starts, each time with Washington losing more starters.

After throwing for 9.9 yards per pass attempt in his first start, Mariota has since thrown for 6.4 Y/A on 67 attempts.

He still will not have Terry McLaurin here.

They also cannot run the ball right now, and Mariota is someone who needs complementary football offensively to coax the best out of him.

This is a spot where I would keep him as a QB2.

The Lions are 11th in pressure rate (39.4%) and are fourth in sack rate (9.6%).

When Mariota has been pressured, he has completed 40.7% of his passes (35th).

Detroit is allowing 6.8 yards per pass attempt (10th), but they have allowed a 6.1% touchdown rate (23rd).

Mariota can create points with his legs as an out for fantasy production, while Detroit is 22nd in rushing points allowed per game to quarterbacks (3.3).
