NFL Showdown is not about who you play as much as how you play them.
Median projections are a tool in the toolbox, but they are to be trusted far less than they would be on the main slate. This is because of the large ramifications associated with a single player underproducing or overproducing relative to their projection.
The most likely outcome is only one of infinite outcomes.
When ownership dictates that the field has the game figured out, lean into builds around a different scenario.
The term “any given Sunday” should be the mantra for successfully building Showdown lineups.

Slate Breakdown
The Philadelphia Eagles are heading to Seattle to take on the Seahawks as 3-point favorites. The total is set at 47.5.
Jalen Hurts is battling an illness and is traveling separately from the team. While Hurts being sidelined would be horrible news, there is a small glimmer of light.
DraftKings finally let a $6,000 Quarterback slip through the cracks as Hurts’ illness was announced after salary release. Builds would not change significantly since Marcus Mariota would simply make Eagles stacks easier to get to.
On the opposite side of the ball, it appears Geno Smith will be sidelined with his groin injury. Unfortunately, Drew Lock is full price.
Lock will be far more appealing if Hurts sits. If Hurts is active, $9,600 is a bit rich for Lock even in a favorable game environment.

Philadelphia Eagles Offense
Tier 1 DFS Showdown Plays:
Jalen Hurts $11,400 –
Hurts appears to be gearing up for his version of the Michael Jordan flu game. He started the week visibly frustrated with fumble drills during the media portion of practice and is ending the week with a serious illness. While nothing seems to be going right for him, this is a game the Eagles must have to keep their hopes of a first-round bye. If Hurts is active, he will be the strongest captain candidate and should be heavily stacked.
A.J. Brown $11,200 –
Brown’s outlook takes the most significant hit if Hurts sits as the pair have one of the strongest connections in the league. If Mariota draws the start, Brown still narrowly holds on to his Tier 1 spot since he can be so productive after the catch.
