Eight weeks are in the book, and we are at the halfway point of the NFL regular season.

By Sunday, we will be flipping the calendar over to November, cruising towards the stretch run of the fantasy football regular season for most leagues.

Week 8 was full of blowouts and one-sided games.

Of the 13 games, 12 were decided by double-digit points.

Eight of the games were decided by 20 or more points.

Favorites now have an 82-38-1 record this season (.682 winning percentage).

That is the highest winning percentage by favorites through eight weeks of a season since 2005.

Favorites have now covered the point spread 54.5% of the time, matching that 2005 season for the highest rate through eight weeks of a season in the 2000s.

The distribution was largely one-sided, but Week 8 was good for fantasy points as NFL offenses returned after a tumultuous Week 7.

Offenses averaged a season-high 5.7 yards per play, the second-highest week of the year.

Offenses averaged 341.3 total yards per game, the second-most on the season.

Offenses scored 24.6 points per game, the highest mark of the year.

Production came via the ground.

Offenses rushed for a season-high 130.1 yards per team with a season-high 5.0 yards per rush.

Passing was still lean.

Teams passed for 211.2 yards per offense, the fewest since Week 4.

Passing remains down this season, which I am sure many gamers have felt across leagues.

The current 214.4 passing yards per team average is tracking to be the lowest in a season since 2008.

As we flip to Week 9, we are monitoring the approaching NFL trade deadline on November 4.

There are four teams on bye (Browns, Jets, Eagles, Buccaneers), so adjust your lineups to fit those absences.

This article will be updated throughout the week to reflect major news or injury implications.

I encourage you to use the game-by-game tables and data points here in conjunction with the player rankings that will be available every Wednesday.

Enjoy the games!
