- Philadelphia has faced third down on 59.4% of its sets of downs, 30th in the league.
- The Rams face third down on 38.9% of their sets of downs, 6th in the league.
- The Rams have a 62.1% defensive success rate against passing plays, third in the league.
- The Eagles have a 37.5% success rate on passing plays, 27th in the league.

Rams vs. Eagles Fantasy Quarterback Preview
Matthew Stafford
After opening the season with a QB32 scoring week in Australia, Stafford has since posted QB6 (27.0 points) and QB11 (20.9 points) scoring weeks against the Giants and Broncos.
He threw a pair of interceptions Sunday night in Denver with only a 54.5% completion rate, but Stafford dropped back 59 times, leading to 390 passing yards and 2 touchdowns.
After throwing 12.3% below expectations in Week 1, the Rams have since thrown 8.8% and 11.5% over expectations over the past two weeks.
These teams have played three times over the past two seasons since Vic Fangio joined the Eagles.
Stafford has thrown multiple touchdowns in all three of those games, but the Eagles have held him to 6.8 yards per pass attempt in those matchups.
Fangio has lowered his rate of man coverage in each matchup, going from 47.1% to 37.3% to 31% in those three meetings.
What is compelling is that Stafford is 21 of 44 (47.7%) for 3.7 yards per attempt against man coverage in those matchups.
He has raised his Cover 3 rate as a trade-off, going from 14.7% to 31.4% and 42.9%.
That is what the Eagles have played most this season, deploying Cover 3 at a 42.8% rate (8th).
I noted Stafford's man-coverage stats, which run counter to Fangio's tendency.
Against Cover 3 in those games, Stafford has gone 24 of 34 (70.6%) for 314 yards (9.2 Y/A).
Stafford has had Puka Nacua in those games, who is a toss-up for Week 4 at the start of the week.
These teams haven't played since the Rams began emphasizing 13 personnel.
Through three weeks, the Eagles have matched multiple tight end sets with base defense just 26% of the time.
They are coming off facing the Bears (who run a lot of multiple tight end sets), and that rate was still 26% on 31 snaps with multiple tight ends on the field.
Case Keenum was 9 for 13 (69.2%) for 93 yards (7.2 Y/A) on those passing plays.
The Rams may not even be able to run those sets, however, given their tight-end injuries.
There are a lot of variables in this matchup compared to previous meetings, but I would still start Stafford as a QB1 here.
Overall, I have much more faith in the Rams offense right now than the Philadelphia defense.
The Eagles are 19th in passing points allowed per attempt (0.452) to open the season against Jayden Daniels, Cam Ward, and Case Keenum.
In Week 2, the Eagles allowed Ward to throw for 9.2 yards per pass attempt.
On Monday night, they allowed Keenum (in his first start since 2023) to go 24 of 34 (70.6%) for 247 yards (7.3 Y/A) with 2 touchdowns.
Sean McVay and Stafford are a much stronger challenge.
Jalen Hurts
Hurts is coming off a disappointing performance in Chicago on Monday night, completing 16 of 25 passes (64%) for 153 yards (6.1 Y/A) with no touchdowns and an interception.
He also added a rushing touchdown on a Tush Push score and 25 rushing yards.
Hurts has opened the season with QB7, QB15, and QB24 scoring weeks.
Going back to last season, Hurts has four top-10 scoring weeks over his past 11 regular-season games and only one top-six scoring week over that span.
He has been a QB2 scorer in seven of those games.
For all the talk about this new offense revamping things, the Eagles are largely doing the same stuff they did on offense a year ago.
Hurts has been under center just 32.1% of the time (27th) and only 15.8% of the time on pass plays (27th).
The Eagles are last in the NFL in rate of play action (17.2%), and Hurts has thrown the ball between the numbers 35.9% of the time (30th).
Hurts has lost 1.0 EPA or worse on 27.6% of his dropbacks, ahead of only Jameis Winston (29.1%).
The base rate for the league is 16.5%.
The Eagles offense is still inconsistent down to down, leaning on big plays to bail out drives.
It is hard to bury Hurts because of his rushing ability, but I'm treating him more like a fringe QB1 this week.
The Rams have started the season by allowing a 56% completion rate (3rd) and 5.2 yards per pass attempt (2nd).
They have allowed top-10 scoring weeks to Brock Purdy and Bo Nix, but those were odd outcomes compared to the production they allowed.
They allowed Purdy only 6.0 yards per attempt (205 yards) and Nix 5.5 yards per attempt (186 yards).
Nix had a rushing touchdown and two 2-point conversions, along with 2 passing touchdowns.
Purdy threw 3 touchdowns.
If the Rams have one early bugaboo, it is that they haven't gotten quarterbacks on the ground.
The Rams have a 2.9% sack rate (29th) despite ranking 12th in pressure rate (38.3%).
