  • The Jets have trailed by double-digit points for 74% of their offensive snaps. The next closest team is the Jaguars at 52.2%.
  • The Jets have a -9 sack differential, the lowest in the league through three weeks.
  • The Jets are allowing 7.3 sacks plus turnovers per game, the most in the league.
  • The Jets have gained a first down on 22.7% of their offensive plays, the lowest rate in the league. League average is 30.2%.
  • Just 7.7% (5-of-65) of Ryan Tannehill’s completions have gained 20 or more yards, the lowest rate for all quarterbacks to start all three games this season.

Quarterback

Ryan Tannehill: Fantasy can work out in weird ways sometimes and Tannehill is an example of that the past two weeks. In Week 2, Tannehill threw for 347 yards and 8.7 yards per pass attempt, but closed as the QB23 because he had zero touchdown passes. Last week, Tannehill passed for just 197 yards and 7.3 yards per pass attempt, but added three passing scores and 56 rushing yards to vault himself into a QB8 scoring week with 21.5 points.

Tannehill gets another soft draw against a Jets defense that has allowed 7.8 yards per pass attempt (21st), but have a league-low 1.1% touchdown rate since opponents have rushed in five of the six touchdowns they have allowed. Without A.J. Brown and Julio Jones available and the Titans still being big favorites here, we should expect another limited game in terms of volume, forcing Tannehill to live off of efficiency. With that in place, Tannehill is more of a matchup-based QB2 option.
