The NFL opt-out deadline is Thursday, August 6th at 4:00pm ET. After that, players may opt out for only two circumstances:
- If he he receives a new diagnosis that he suffers from one of the “Higher Risk” factors (the player has one week after receiving the new diagnosis to opt out).
- If a player has a family member die or become hospitalized due to COVID-19 after August 6th.
We note whether the player is a projected 2020 starter and if they were starters for the team in 2019. Players considered at high risk for COVID-19 receive $350,000 and an accrued season by opting out, while other players can earn $150,000.
