– All Pro guard Joe Thuney will be inactive on Sunday due to a pectoral injury he suffered against the Bills last week.

Nick Allegrotti will get his first start at left guard since Week 13 of last year. The five-year vet was the Chiefs’ left guard during their playoff run in 2020, but allowed seven pressures in the Super Bowl loss to the Buccaneers.

Isiah Pacheco is considered questionable due to ankle and toe injuries. He was banged up at the end of the regular season, but that was an unrelated shoulder issue. He sat out practice on Wednesday and Thursday, but returned in a limited capacity on Friday.

The second-year back has been huge for the Chiefs in the playoffs, rushing for at least 75 yards in four of his five playoff games and averaging over five yards per carry during that span.

Clyde Edwards-Helaire got two carries against the Bills last week, breaking one off for 28 yards.

– The Chiefs have been without Kadarius Toney since Week 15, but he’s questionable for Sunday after logging a full practice earlier in the week. He was ruled out last week after a full week of limited participation.

Toney hasn’t had more than five touches in a game since Week 5, but his presence could mean less Mecole Hardman after he fumbled on both his touches against the Bills.

– The big news in Baltimore this week is the return of Mark Andrews from the IR after he spent the past few months rehabbing an ankle injury he suffered in Week 11. Andrews was a full participant in practice last week leading up to the Divisional Round, but the Ravens held him out.

This week will be a tough matchup for Andrews who has never had over 60 yards in a game against the Chiefs in his career. This Kansas City defense has done a good job limiting tight end production, allowing the fifth-least amount of fantasy points to tight ends this season.

Marlon Humphrey is questionable this week for the first time since suffering his calf injury back in Week 17. He was a full participant in Friday’s practice.

Ronald Darby has been filling in for Humphrey all year and has played well, holding opposing quarterbacks to a passer rating of 72.2 when targeted and allowing less than 50 percent of his targets to be completed.

– The Lions will be without left guard Jonah Jackson who missed practice all week with a knee injury he suffered against the Buccaneers. Jackson allowed just two sacks in 480 pass-blocking snaps this season.

Detroit is expected to turn to Kayode Awosika to fill in against the 49ers. He previously started two games earlier this season, allowing seven pressures and one sack in 81 pass-blocking snaps.

– There is good news as rookie tight end Sam LaPorta is officially off the injury report after dealing with a knee injury the past few weeks. He tied his season-high with nine receptions against the Buccaneers last week.

– There was some worry that Deebo Samuel would be inactive this week after he suffered a shoulder injury against the Packers, but he will be on the field after full participation in Friday’s practice.

The 49ers were 12-1 when Samuel played over 20 snaps in the regular season and 0-4 when he didn’t. He was limited to just nine snaps against the Packers last week due to his injury and caught two passes for 24 yards.
