The NFL Playoffs are upon us, and all 14 teams who still have their Super Bowl dreams alive will enter this next month hoping to stay as healthy as possible.

While some teams are healing up at the right time, others are limping to the finish line or desperate to get reinforcements before it is too late.

Let's look at the biggest injuries on facing each team heading into the postseason.

Biggest Injury Questions, NFL Playoffs

Lions: Can David Montgomery return for the Divisional Round?

Perhaps no team has needed the first-round bye more than this year’s Lions, who have 16 players on injured reserve and haven’t had a week off since early October.

The return of Alex Anzalone on Sunday night was a much-needed boost for an ailing defense, and the offense could get a huge weapon back when they step on the field again in the Divisional Round.

David Montgomery’s knee injury was initially feared to be season-ending, but after further testing and rehab, it was reported on the Sunday Night Football broadcast that he’s on track to possibly return in two weeks after missing just three games.

The Lions offense hasn’t skipped a beat with Montgomery out, scoring over 30 points in every game, but adding another powerful runner could help ease the stress on their defense if they can control the time of possession.

Eagles: How healthy is AJ Brown?

The Eagles entered the week with their quarterback in concussion protocol, but now face questions with their pass catchers as AJ Brown spent most of the week dealing with a knee injury and DeVonta Smith missed Friday's practice due to a back injury.

Jalen Hurts has been cleared from concussion protocol and neither wide receiver has an injury designation heading into the weekend, but Brown's knee has been a nagging issue for a few weeks and it is worrisome that it's still bothering him after taking a full week off in Week 18.

Brown caught five passes for 119 yards in the Eagles' Week 1 win over the Packers in Brazil.

Buccaneers: Will Cade Otton return by Sunday night?

Tight end Cade Otton finished the season as the Buccaneers’ second-leading receiver, but he hasn’t suited up since injuring his knee against the Cowboys in Week 15.

Otton’s attendance at practice has been spotty in the last three weeks, but he was a full participant in Friday's practice and is considered questionable heading into the weekend.

Those are signs of hope that the tight end can be on the field against the Commanders, who have allowed the fourth-most touchdowns to opposing tight ends this season.

Rams: How healthy will Rob Havenstein be?

The Rams rested a number of their key starters on Sunday, but right tackle Rob Havenstein was off the field due to a shoulder injury that also knocked him out of Week 17.

Havenstein was a limited participant in practice to start the week.

Havenstein previously missed four games earlier this season with an ankle injury, and despite allowing 20 pressures in pass protection, he’s the team’s second-highest graded run blocker on Pro Football Focus.

Vikings: Is Will Reichard’s quad still bothering him?

The Vikings have been relatively healthy this season, so we’re talking about the kicker.

Will Reichard was perfect on field goals during the first two months of the season, including four makes from over 50 yards out.

However, he suffered a quad injury in early November and hasn’t been the same since.

After missing four weeks, Reichard has missed 4 of his 13 field goal attempts, including 3 in the last two games.

Perhaps the biggest reason the Vikings lost to the Lions on Sunday night was their failure in the red zone, converting zero of their four trips into touchdowns.

If that trend continues and Kevin O’Connell loses faith in his rookie kicker, it could be a tough return to the postseason for the Vikings.

Commanders: How healthy is Jayden Daniels?

Jayden Daniels was pulled out of Sunday’s win over the Cowboys, and it was originally reported as not injury related.

With not much to gain from a win, it felt like a merciful move by Dan Quinn to save his young QB, who averaged just 3.2 yards per attempt and took 4 sacks in his short time on the field.

However, Quinn told reporters that Daniels was dealing with leg soreness, and that factored in his decision. Daniels was a full participant in practice all week, but he was listed on the injury report with a quad injury.

Now, it’s still considered a precautionary move, and Daniels told reporters he would’ve stayed on the field had the game meant more, but Daniels’ worst stretch of the season came when he was dealing with a nagging rib injury.

It’s worth wondering if this soreness could last into the postseason.

Packers: Will Jordan Love play against the Eagles?

Jordan Love was removed from Sunday’s loss to the Bears due to an elbow injury, but the quarterback remained on the sideline for most of the game and was seen warming up multiple times despite never returning to action.

Love officially suffered an elbow injury, but he told reporters after the game that he couldn’t feel his hand after falling awkwardly.

Love was limited in practice on Wednesday, but returned as a full participant on Thursday and Friday, carrying no injury designation into the weekend.

However, the news isn’t positive for Christian Watson, who was carted off the field in the second quarter and never returned. It was reported on Monday that Watson tore his ACL.

The Packers sat most of their key veterans in the second half against Chicago, and in a cruel twist of fate, Watson wasn’t supposed to play at all against the Bears until fellow receiver Romeo Doubs fell ill on Saturday.

Chiefs: Will Isiah Pacheco return to form at some point this season?

Isiah Pacheco came into the 2024 season with high expectations but suffered a fractured leg in Week 2. He didn’t return until late November.

Pacheco just hasn’t looked like the same guy since his return, averaging just 3.57 yards per carry and breaking off just one run for over 10 yards.

While some of the other key Chiefs sat out Week 18 due to rest, Pacheco was on the sideline with a rib injury he suffered in Week 17.

Andy Reid told reporters his absence was nothing to worry about and he would be ready to go once they hit the postseason.

Kareem Hunt is also averaging under 3.6 yards per carry since Pacheco’s return, so the Chiefs are desperate to find a back who can pick up consistent yards.

Bills: Who will be playing safety?

The Bills have been playing musical chairs at safety this year, but with everyone now healthy heading into the postseason, it will be interesting to see how Sean McDermott handles the bunch.

Damar Hamlin and Taylor Rapp both played limited snaps in Week 18 to get themselves acclimated to playing with each other again and knock off some rust.

Rookie second-round pick Cole Bishop also figures in the mix after he started three games while Hamlin was out and rotated in with the starters against the Patriots.

Former All-Pro safety Micah Hyde is still on the Bills practice squad, but it seems like his number will only be called in case of emergency.

McDermott has been pretty adamant that he will not play over any of the current options.

Ravens: How bad is Zay Flowers’ knee?

Zay Flowers became the first Ravens wide receiver to make the Pro Bowl this week, but he also suffered a knee injury on Saturday that knocked him out of the rest of the game.

On Monday, John Harbaugh revealed the injury isn’t considered season-ending or all that serious, but Flowers missed practice all week and will be inactive against the Steelers.

In three career games against Pittsburgh, Flowers has been targeted 25 times, catching 12 passes for 212 yards.

Rashod Bateman will be the team's WR1 on Saturday night. He finished third on the team in receptions this year behind Flowers and Mark Andrews.

Texans: How will the offensive line look against the Chargers?

The Texans have been forced to shuffle their offensive line in recent weeks due to injury, but with some guys coming back now, the interior of the line has become crowded.

Juice Scruggs returned from injury this week, but instead of sliding back into his natural position at left guard, he flipped to the right side to fill in for Shaq Mason, who is dealing with a Grade 2 MCL sprain he suffered back in Week 16.

Veteran right tackle Tytus Howard has been playing left guard since Scruggs initially went down, and rookie second-round pick Blake Fisher has now made four starts at right tackle.

Given the severity of Mason’s injury, it seems likely he will miss another game.

If he does return, the Texans could find themselves in a situation where they shift three linemen to different positions.

Chargers: Will Gus Edwards be the RB2 this weekend?

The Chargers' rushing attack has been led by the two-headed monster of J.K. Dobbins and Gus Edwards for most of the season, although Dobbins has taken a bigger share of the carries when he’s been healthy.

Edwards turned in a 2-touchdown performance in Week 16 but also suffered a knee injury. He was inactive for the final two games of the season.

With Edwards out, Hassan Haskins has been elevated to the RB2 spot on the depth chart, carrying the ball 20 times for 63 yards.

Edwards was limited in practice all week leading up to Saturday's game, but carries no injury designation into the weekend and will be active against the Texans.

Steelers: Can Mason McCormick play with a broken hand?

Starting right guard Mason McCormick suffered a broken hand in the fourth quarter of the Steelers’ Week 18 loss to the Bengals, but he has yet to be ruled out of the first round.

Mike Tomlin told reporters that the rookie would test his ability to play with a cast during practice this week and that his “participation in practice would be an indication of his potential availability.”

However, McCormick told reporters he won't wear a cast if he suits up and was limited in practice all week while wearing a brace on the field. He's officially listed as questionable for Saturday night.

McCormick had the worst game of his young career against the Ravens earlier this season, allowing 2 sacks and 5 total pressures in the Week 16 loss.

If he can’t go, it would be Spencer Anderson filling in after he played the final two possessions against Cincy.

Broncos: Will Tyler Badie return from the IR this week?

The third-year running back hasn’t played since injuring his back in Week 4, but the Broncos did open his 21-day practice window two weeks ago.

It was a brutal injury for Badie, who ended up being hospitalized. Still, he did log a full week of practice this week, indicating he is close to returning to the active roster. He's officially questionable once again and has not been officially activated off the IR.

The Broncos rushing attack has been pretty lackluster this season, averaging 3.9 yards per carry, and Jaleel McLaughlin has taken over the lion’s share of the work from former top back Javonte Williams in recent weeks.

Badie only had one good performance before his injury, a 9-carry, 70-yard day, but if he is active, expect him to factor into the backfield rotation as Sean Payton searches for answers.
