Quarterback
Caleb Williams (TRUST): We're running it back this week.
Williams was the highest-scoring quarterback in Week 4 (29.1 points), completing 19 of 28 passes (67.9%) for 298 yards (10.6 Y/A) and 4 touchdowns.
He has now been a top-10 quarterback in two of the opening three games.
Williams still had the highest inaccurate throw rate in Week 3 (21.4%), but he avoided pressure, the top signal we care about with him as a passer.
Williams was pressured on only 27.6% of his dropbacks, his lowest rate since Week 12 of last season.
He was not sacked for the first time in his career.
On the little pressure Williams did get, he averaged 5.6 yards per pass attempt.
When kept clean, he averaged 12.7 yards per pass attempt with 3 of his 4 touchdowns.
When pressured this season, Williams has 4.8 Y/A, completing 54.2% of his passes with 1 touchdown.
Kept clean, he has completed 66.7% of his passes for 8.7 Y/A with 6 touchdowns and 0 interceptions.
He gets another favorable outlook on that front this week.
The Raiders are 19th in pressure rate (33.3%).
When they have failed to get pressure, they have allowed a 75.4% completion rate (23rd) and 7.9 Y/A (26th).
The Raiders have also struggled to slow down the vertical passing game.
They have allowed a 61.1% completion rate on throws 10 or more yards downfield (29th) with 13.1 Y/A on those passes (29th).
No team has played Cover 3 more than the Raiders (55.4% of snaps).
Against Cover 3 this season, Williams has averaged 9.2 Y/A (5th) with a 10.8% touchdown rate (2nd).
Geno Smith (TRUST): It was not a perfect game, but Smith got there in the end for fantasy purposes in Week 3.
He ended the week as QB4 (26.1 points).
Through three quarters, Smith was 10 of 17 (58.8%) for 124 yards (7.3 Y/A) with a touchdown.
Down 34-10 heading into the final quarter, Smith was a trash collector, completing 9 of 12 passes for 165 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Smith has now averaged over 10.0 yards per pass attempt in two of the first three games.
The only other quarterback so far with multiple games averaging 10.0 Y/A has been Lamar Jackson.
He did need garbage time and a slew of injuries to the Washington secondary, but the matchup lines up for Smith to attack downfield here.
The Bears have allowed a league-high 70.4% completion rate on throws 10 or more yards downfield, with a league-high 17.3 yards per pass attempt on those throws.
Last week, Dallas passers were 8 of 12 (66.7%) on those attempts.
Even though the Bears gave up production on those throws last week, they were more bend but don’t break.
Dak Prescott was 31 of 40 on Sunday, but he averaged only 6.3 yards per pass attempt and finished as QB21 (12 points).
That said, the Cowboys also shot themselves in the foot repeatedly.
They threw 2 red zone interceptions (both in the end zone) and lost a fumble on the Chicago side of the field.
Dallas only punted on two of their opening six drives and got into Chicago territory on 7 of 9 true possessions.
There were ample scoring opportunities.
The Bears are still 30th in passing points allowed per attempt.
This game has plenty of shootout potential with Smith at home.
