Every Sunday in the weekly fantasy chats, I get asked about my favorite plays of the week or who is my player pool that weekend for DFS.
This article series covers exactly that.
I will go through the players I am targeting as the tournament plays for all formats and will cover core players and games to target for stacks in other posts.
The idea is that this will paint a clearer picture of framing lineups.
Week 2 DFS Content:
It is not that all tournament players cannot be used in cash games. If a player here works out for your team structure in cash games surrounding your primary core, use them.
These are just the players that come with some element of inherent risk but are the primary players that I still want to be ahead of the field on compared to the percentage of rosters they are projected to make this weekend.
Our Week 2 tournament players largely stayed hot.
I will have some analysis on the player selections and game writeups, but check out the Week 3 Worksheet for a fully detailed breakdown of the players and games.
Deshaun Watson ($6,100 DraftKings/$7,500 FanDuel)
Watson has been terrible through two games. You can check out the write-up in the Worksheet to see some horrific stats on him.
As bad as Watson has been as a passer, we will have to give him another look this weekend against the Titans.
Tennessee is not only a proven pass funnel because of their stout run defense, but they have once again opened the season struggling to defend the pass.
The Titans are 27th in passing points allowed (18.2 per game), allowing 305 passing yards to both Derek Carr and Justin Herbert.
We have a mounting sample where Watson just may not get back to the passer he was early in his career, but for fantasy, we do know he is at least willing to run.
Watson has rushed for 45 and 22 yards over the first two games.
