Trust = spike production for that player

Quarterback

Deshaun Watson: Watson was better in Week 2, but he had a low bar to clear in being better last week than he was in Week 1.

He completed 64.7% of his passes compared to a 53.3% rate in the opener, but Watson’s 5.5 yards per pass attempt were ahead of only Caleb Williams and Bryce Young this past week.

Although he failed to throw a touchdown and only had 186 passing yards, Watson managed 20 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

Paired with anemic week of scoring across the league, he was able to end the week as the QB10 (15.4 points).

That is largely where we are with Watson right now.

His rushing is still a potential out for him as a QB2, but we still have no evidence of him producing efficient passing output since joining the Browns.

He has not earned the benefit of the doubt, but the offensive environment has not been good, either.

Cleveland has been without both of their offensive tackles, and the line was an issue again in Week 2.

Watson was pressured on 47.4% of his dropbacks last week (28th) and has been pressured at the highest rate in the league through two weeks.

Cleveland has also run a stale offense.

Only three quarterbacks have had pre-snap motion used at a lower rate than Watson (25.5%) while he has been in shotgun for 77.3% of his dropbacks (12th).

The matchup is good enough to hope for upside, however.

The Giants are 24th in passing points allowed per attempt (0.441) through two games against Sam Darnold and Jayden Daniels.

They have allowed a league-high 79.3% completion rate and 8.2 yards per pass attempt (28th).

Daniel Jones: Jones cashed in as a matchup-based fantasy option last week, closing the week as QB5 (18.3 points) against the Commanders.

Jones only passed for 6.4 yards per attempt and tallied fewer passing yards (178) than he did in Week 1 (186), but he did not turn the ball over, threw a pair of touchdowns, and added 32 rushing yards to get there for fantasy purposes.

Jones earned a bit of a leash that he could be used in soft matchups, but we do not have one of those this week.

Cleveland has opened the year as stingy of a pass defense as we saw a year ago.

Against Dak Prescott and Trevor Lawrence, the Browns have allowed a league-best 53.3% completion rate and 6.4 yards per pass attempt (10th).

Jones is a back-end QB2 we are hoping does work with his legs in generating fantasy points.
