Quarterback
Jared Goff: Goff has not played great real football the past two weeks, turning the ball over six times. But with Detroit having to play from behind heavily in both games, Goff has been able to stack late-game passing production.
Goff has thrown for an NFL-high 284 yards in the fourth quarter the past two weeks to go along with two passing touchdowns.
This is a spot where we are not expecting the Lions to be forced to play in jailbreak scenarios, but we would have said the same thing a week ago.
I would prefer to use Goff as a floor-based QB2, but with a few front-end passers on bye, Goff is right on that QB1/QB2 line if you are forced to use him in 1QB formats.
The Saints have allowed 11.1 passing points per game (sixth) to quarterbacks with just one passer throwing more than two touchdowns in a game against them this season.
They have not faced a daunting rogue’s gallery of opponents, but both C.J. Stroud (QB12) and Trevor Lawrence (QB9) were back-end QB1 scorers against them, which feels like the right area of expectations for Goff in a game that Detroit can control in the majority of outcomes.
