Baker Mayfield: After a four-game stretch operating as a back-end QB1, Mayfield has been the QB22 (10.3 points) and QB17 (13.4 points) the past two weeks.
Mayfield was barely getting there as a lower-end QB1 with a season-high week as QB8, so this natural slide as a QB2 is not overly shocking.
He is currently completing 64.7% of his passes (20th) for 6.8 yards per pass attempt (23rd).
This is not a spot to expect a ceiling week, either, keeping Mayfield as a floor-based QB2.
For all of Carolina’s issues, they have not been giving up passing efficiency.
The Panthers are allowing 11.6 passing points per game (eighth).
Since Week 8 they are allowing a league-low 5.4 Y/A and 8.4 yards per completion, which includes games against C.J. Stroud (QB21) and Dak Prescott (QB15).
