Three weeks are now in the books as we are now fleshing out a real sample of what we have on a team and player basis.

While approaching the end of the first month of the season, the year is still fresh.

Big games and the quality of opponents still heavily influence overall statistics, but we are making progress in building out a larger sample to draw from.

Week 3 was another down week for NFL offenses.

Offenses averaged 21.2 points per game, down 2.6 points per team from the previous week.

The 5.1 yards per play and 310.3 yards per team were our worst marks for a week to open the season.

Turnovers climbed for the third straight week, while third-down conversion rates have gone from 42% in Week 1 to 39.3% in Week 2 and 37.4% this past week.

The 2.00 points per drive were our fewest to open the year.

Offenses scored on 37.8% of their possessions after rates of 42.3% in Week 2 and 40.2% in Week 1.

The only thing that has been consistently up to open the 2025 season has been penalties.

Through three weeks, we have had the most penalties (7.1) per game and the most penalty yardage (57.8 yards) per game since the 2019 season.

We have had 204 penalties resulting in an automatic first down for offenses, the most through three weeks since 2020.

Week 3 was also another noteworthy week for injuries.

James Conner, Najee Harris, and Nick Bosa were lost for the season.

CeeDee Lamb, Mike Evans, and Tyrone Tracy suffered injuries that are expected to sideline them for multiple weeks.

As always, the more information we acquire, the more robust our evidence-based approach can be.

We are only one week away from the beginning of the bye weeks, so we have another full week ahead in Week 4.

This week features an international game in Ireland early on Sunday morning, so be aware of the start time if you roster any Pittsburgh or Minnesota players.

We also have another two Monday night games this week.

This article will be updated throughout the week to reflect major news or injury implications.

I encourage you to use the game-by-game tables and data points here in conjunction with the player rankings that will be available every Wednesday.

Enjoy the games!
