Quarterback

Drake Maye (TRUST): Maye has been a bit mortal the past two weeks, finishing as a QB2 in back-to-back weeks for the first time this season.

He completed a season-low 51.6% of his passes on Sunday with a season-high 16.1% inaccurate throw rate.

After throwing for 9.5 yards per pass attempt with 2 touchdowns in the first half on Sunday, Maye was only 5 of 12 (41.7%) for 7.5 Y/A with an interception in the second half.

A pair of long touchdown runs took away some volume, but Maye still managed a solid QB14 (18.1 points) scoring week.

We knew that Maye had to slow down on his immaculate downfield success this season.

In the past two weeks, he has completed 46.2% (6 of 13) and 41.7% (5 of 12) of his passes 10 or more yards downfield, his only two games below 50% on those throws this season.

Even with some normal-looking numbers on those throws, he still has completed 63.7% this season, second in the league behind Sam Darnold (68.1%).

Maye will be in a good place to get back into QB1 territory this week as a massive home favorite.

The Jets are 31st in pressure rate (28.9%) and do not have an interception this season.

When Maye has not been pressured, he has completed 78.6% of his passes (4th) for 9.0 Y/A (3rd), and a 7.3% touchdown rate (7th).

The Jets have allowed top 10 scoring weeks to Joe Flacco (24.3 points) and Dillon Gabriel (20.1 points) over their past two games.

The Jets are 27th in passing points allowed per attempt (0.527) and are 29th in rushing yards allowed per game to quarterbacks (25.9).

New York has played man coverage on 31.3% of their defensive snaps, eighth in the league.

Against man coverage, Maye is averaging 9.7 yards per pass attempt (2nd).

Maye also has a league-high 14% scramble rate against man coverage.

Justin Fields: Fields was 6 of 11 for 54 yards with 1 touchdown and an interception on Sunday against the Browns, adding 28 yards rushing.

The Jets had a pair of special teams touchdowns that played a part in the reduced passing output, but they also had only a 34% dropback rate, the second-lowest rate for a team in a game this season.

Fields has been all-or-nothing for fantasy purposes.

He has 20 or more fantasy points in four games this season, and single digits in his other four.

Since the season opener, Fields has completed 62.2% of his passes (26th) for 5.9 yards per pass attempt (32nd) and a 3.2% touchdown rate (31st).

Fields is a boom-or-bust QB2.

He will be without Garrett Wilson here, leaving him dependent on a lackluster room of pass catchers and his rushing ability.

If looking for a carrot in terms of the matchup, New England has allowed 7.3 yards per pass attempt (22nd) and 5.4% touchdown rate (19th) to opposing passers.

Fields has completed 60.5% of his passes (11th) with 5 touchdowns and 0 interceptions against man coverage (118.6 rating), which New England runs at the 11th-highest rate (28.4%).

Against zone coverage, he has completed 65.9% of his passes (24th) with 0 touchdowns and an 80.8 rating.

Another interesting component of Fields' coverage splits is that he only has a 3.6% scramble rate against man coverage (24th), compared to a 13% rate against zone coverage (2nd).
