Trust = spike production for that player

Quarterback

C.J. Stroud: We are opening the week with the expectation that Stroud will be back after missing Week 10 with a concussion.

Should he miss another game, we will circle back here and adjust for another start for Davis Mills.

This would be a spot where I would elevate Stroud to “trust” status, but I am keeping him shy of that due to returning from protocol.

He is still a potential streamer and higher-end QB2, with room for larger upside if there are no effects from the injury.

Stroud’s best fantasy weeks this season have been identifiable coming in based on matchups.

His three games clearing 15 fantasy points have come against injury-riddled defenses for Baltimore (28.8 points) and San Francisco (21.7 points) that could not rush the passer and this Tennessee team in Week 4.

In the first matchup between these teams, Stroud was QB14 (18.4 points), completing 22 of 28 passes for 233 yards (8.3 Y/A) with 2 touchdowns.

When kept clean, Stroud is 14th with a 106.8 rating, completing 72.1% of his passes for 7.7 yards per pass attempt with 9 touchdowns and 2 interceptions.

When pressured, Stroud drops to 24th in rating (60.4), completing 52.9% of his passes for 5.4 Y/A with 2 touchdowns and 3 interceptions.

When the Titans failed to pressure Stroud in Week 4, he completed 16 of 19 passes for 201 yards (10.6 Y/A) with 2 touchdowns.

Tennessee is 24th in pressure rate (32.7%), and Mike McCoy did not sound optimistic that Jeffery Simmons would be back this week.

Without Simmons on the field, Tennessee has a 30.4% pressure rate (28th).

The Titans have allowed a 71.7% completion rate (31st) for 7.9 Y/A (28th) and a 5.3% touchdown rate (18th).

Cam Ward: Ward comes out of his first bye week looking to improve on a rough start to his career.

Ward is last among qualifying passers in completion rate (57.6%).

His 6.0 yards per pass attempt ranks 31st, ahead of Bryce Young (5.6 Y/A) and Dillon Gabriel (5.0 Y/A).

He is last in touchdown rate (1.7%) while 32nd in sack rate (11.4%), ahead of only Justin Fields (12.3%).

Ward ranks last in the rate of dropbacks resulting in 1.0 EPA or more (16.7%) and in the rate of dropbacks resulting in 1.0 EPA or worse (21.1%).

You can make the case that there is nowhere to go but up, but this is not the matchup to chase any improvement out of the bye that would yield viable fantasy points.

Houston has allowed the lowest completion rate in the league (56.9%), allowing 6.2 Y/A (2nd) and a 3.3% touchdown rate (4th).

When these teams played in Week 4, Ward was QB32 (4.5 points), completing a season-low 38.5% of his passes (10 of 26) for 108 yards (4.2 Y/A) with an interception.
