SEC Win Total Best Bet: LSU Over 8.5 Wins
If Lane Kiffin doesn’t hit the over on this prop, LSU fans will already start questioning the program’s massive offseason investment.
Not only did LSU pay a steep price to lure Kiffin away from Ole Miss, but it also added many of the top transfers around the sport such as left tackle Jordan Seaton (Colorado), quarterback Sam Leavitt (Arizona State) and safety Ty Benefield (Boise State).
There’s always some doubt as to whether a portal class will quickly add up to the sum of its parts, but LSU has as much talent as anyone in the SEC.
LSU’s schedule also bodes well for Kiffin hitting the over on this prop, as we can probably lock these games in as wins:
- Week 1 vs. Clemson
- Week 2 vs. Louisiana Tech
- Week 5 vs. McNeese State
- Week 6 at Kentucky
- Week 7 vs. Mississippi State
- Week 13 at Arkansas
Assuming LSU takes care of business in those games, the Tigers would only need to go 3-3 against the meat of its schedule to hit the over.
There will certainly be some tough games in that mix, but LSU gets Texas A&M, Alabama, and Texas in Baton Rouge.

Big Ten Win Total Best Bet: Oregon Over 10.5 Wins
The trend of Big Ten teams returning nearly their entire rosters and winning titles might continue, with Oregon becoming the fourth to do so in the last four years.
The Ducks bring back 14 starters and are likely to be favored in at least 11 games, potentially being a road underdog at Ohio State in November.
Other than the Buckeyes, Oregon’s next toughest test will be:
- Week 4 at USC
- Week 10 vs. Michigan
- Week 13 vs. Washington
It’s tough to imagine any of those teams seriously pushing Oregon, especially with two of those contests coming at home.
Oregon’s dominance is perhaps best summed by their explosive play rates from a season ago:
- Offense: ranked 2nd
- Defense: ranked 7th
The Ducks are just too well-rounded to be threatened by anyone other than college football’s elite, and it looks like only one of those teams is on the schedule this year.

Big 12 Win Total Best Bet: BYU Over 8.5 wins
BYU lacks the explosive athletes to compete with the elite programs in the sport, but there’s only one elite program on the schedule this year (Notre Dame).
Just like last year when it got handled by Texas Tech twice, BYU probably can’t be competitive with Notre Dame, but Kalani Sitake’s physical squad is capable of taking care of business against the rest of the Big 12.
Skeptics of the Cougars might point to their relatively light schedule as a reason to doubt the recent success, but check out how they ranked based on opponent-adjusted data:
- Scoring offense: 25th
- Scoring defense: 13th
With seven starters returning on defense, most notably star safety Faletau Satuala, this should again be one of the most dangerous units in the Big 12.

ACC Win Total Best Bet: North Carolina Under 4.5 Wins
Betting on North Carolina to improve upon last year’s 4-8 record would require blind faith in Bill Belichick.
Belichick and his staff have been preparing fans for the likelihood of it getting worse before it gets better in Chapel Hill by publicly discussing the plan to avoid the transfer portal and build through high school recruiting.
Maybe that will work in the long run, but it likely sets up the Tar Heels to be the doormat of the ACC in 2026.
The schedule is also going to be a problem for North Carolina, as it gets dramatically more challenging for Belichick this time around.
The Tar Heels avoided Notre Dame, Miami, Pitt and Louisville last year, but they add all four teams to the schedule this season.
Only the East Tennessee State game in Week 2 can be penciled in as a probable win for the Tar Heels at this point.
