Welcome to Week 9 of The Worksheet, a comprehensive fantasy football preview, by Rich Hribar.
What is The Worksheet from Rich Hribar?
The Worksheet is a comprehensive weekly fantasy football preview for each NFL game. Rich Hribar analyzes the matchup for every notable fantasy player for every game every week of the NFL season.
Eight weeks are in the book, and we are at the halfway point of the NFL regular season.
By Sunday, we will be flipping the calendar over to November, cruising towards the stretch run of most leagues' fantasy football regular season.
Week 8 was good for fantasy points as NFL offenses returned from a tumultuous Week 7.
Offenses averaged a season-high 5.7 yards per play and 23.6 points per game, matching the season's highest week.
Teams had their best week of the season on money downs, converting a season-high 42.1% of third downs, while we had the lowest sack rate (6.1%) in a week this season.
You also could not have scripted National Tight End Day any better.
Tight ends in Week 8 caught 190 passes for 2,133 yards and 17 touchdowns.
All of those were season-best marks for the position.
Until last week, tight ends had only averaged 7.4 touchdowns per week.
Let’s hope that we see offensive momentum coming off last week.
There are only two teams on bye (the Steelers and 49ers), so adjust your lineups to fit those absences.
