Week 11 Prediction: D'Andre Swift More Than 2.5 Receptions
When Caleb Williams spoke to the media this past week, he discussed the importance of releasing the ball more quickly to enhance offensive efficiency.
He emphasized that a faster release can lead to “a few easier passes, a few extra layups.”
In addition, he mentioned holding onto the ball was detrimental.
The Bears pivoted to a new playcaller this past week, Thomas Brown.
Last year, Brown was with the Carolina Panthers and assumed playcalling duties during their bye week in Week 7.
After two weeks of RB target rates of 6.3% and 8.0%, Brown came out with a 17.4% RB target rate in his first game and a 30% RB target rate in his second game.
D’Andre Swift has at least 4 targets in 5 games this year. Importantly, in games immediately after low-target appearances, the Bears seemed to feed him more:
- Week 1: 1 target -> Week 2: 5 targets, 4 receptions
- Week 5: 2 targets -> Week 6: 4 targets, 4 receptions
- Week 7: 0 targets -> Week 8: 6 targets, 6 receptions
Last week, he had just 1 target and 1 reception.
New OC Brown may look to get easy completions for Williams via Swift this week.
