We are officially in Week 8 and heading downhill for the fantasy regular season in most leagues.

This season has already been a war of attrition.

Week 7 was an odd one for the league.

Offenses set season highs in yards per play (5.6) and third-down conversion rate (43.7%).

We also had a season-high 2.32 points per possession and 26.5% touchdown rate per drive.

But scoring (22.3 offensive points per game) was the third-lowest-scoring week of the season.

Offenses averaged a season-low 9.6 possessions per game.

As a result, Week 7 was the third-lowest-scoring fantasy week of the year.

The good news is that fewer overall possessions meant fewer penalties.

The 6.3 penalties and 50.8 penalty yards per game were the fewest for any week this season.

We don't have an international game this week, so this is as “normal” a week as we've had since the season's opening month in terms of the slate.

We do have another four teams on bye.

The Texans, 49ers, Saints, and Giants are off this week.

Paired with injuries, rosters will be thinned out this weekend.

This article will be updated throughout the week to reflect major news or injury implications.

I encourage you to use the game-by-game tables and data points here, along with the player rankings available every Wednesday.

Enjoy the games!
