Welcome to Week 6 of The Worksheet, a comprehensive fantasy football preview, by Rich Hribar.
What is The Worksheet from Rich Hribar?
The Worksheet is a comprehensive weekly fantasy football preview for each NFL game. Rich Hribar analyzes the matchup for every notable fantasy player for every game every week of the NFL season.
October football got off to a good start.
Week 5 saw offenses set season highs in yards per play (5.6), points per drive (2.03), and the percentage of plays of 10 or more yards (20.3%) and 20 or more yards (6.5%).
It also featured a 62.5% dropback rate, the highest in a week this season.
Passing games have come around to a place we feel good about compared to the start of the year.
Our only primary areas of concern are the rate of sacks still being taken and the ongoing issues teams are having in the red zone.
The season is fresh and we are still working with an ever-growing sample size, but as we enter Week 6, we are moving fully into midseason for regular fantasy leagues.
By now, we more than know where we stand and where our strengths and holes are for seasonal leagues.
With more bye weeks this week, the time to aggressively calibrate your roster is in full swing.
We had more injuries this past week that can shake up leagues.
Nico Collins suffered a hamstring injury and is now “week to week.”
Aaron Jones and De’Von Achane were forced from Sunday’s games, but each player has a bye week this week.
We have the Chiefs, Rams, Dolphins, and Vikings on bye this week.
If your team is in a good spot with some access pieces, you should check the price tag for players like Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, and Achane.
Miami will still have one more game without Tua Tagovailoa in Week 7, but the word has been positive surrounding a return for Tagovailoa in Week 8.
But with Miami on bye this week, odds are that the gamers with those players are in the heart of darkness and could be willing to sell out of desperation.
It's the same with a player like Cooper Kupp, who could return in Week 7 out of the bye.
Kupp was not placed on injured reserve, so he can play when ready.
Puka Nacua was targeting a Week 9 return, so he is still expected to miss action.
We also anticipate an inevitable trade of Davante Adams, which could come early in the week.
Another reminder: we have another game in London this weekend between the Jaguars and Bears.
Ensure your roster is updated for that early kickoff on Sunday morning.
The more information we acquire, the more robust our evidence-based approach can be.
We also have a ton of football left to go.
