  • Arizona allows 36.4 yards per possession, ahead of only the Rams (36.8) and the Colts (37.7).
  • 48.9% of the possessions against the Cardinals have reached the red zone or scored a touchdown prior, the highest rate in the league.
  • Arizona allows a first down or a touchdown every 2.9 plays on defense, the worst rate in the league.
  • 76.5% (13-of-17) of the scoring plays allowed by the Packers have been touchdowns, the highest rate in the league.
  • 12.8% of Green Bay passing plays have gained 20 or more yards, the highest rate in the league.
  • Arizona averages 3.82 points per drive in the first quarter (second in the NFL) compared to 1.89 points afterward (20th).
  • Green Bay has a takeaway on 23.2% of opponent possessions, the highest rate in the league.

Quarterback

Jordan Love: Love did not get there last week for the volume reasons we were worried about.

He did throw one of the worst interceptions imaginable, but he only attempted 26 passes after throwing the ball 34 and 54 times in his first two starts.

He ended up QB14 on the week (16.0 points), which was more than usable but a tick down from expectations.

Even on his attempts, Love had some connection issues.

He completed 57.7% (15-of-26). Love has completed fewer than 60% of his passes in all three games this season.

Only Anthony Richardson (50.6%) has completed a lower rate of passes than Love (56.1%) among qualified passers.

Love only has a 7.9% inaccurate throw rate (eighth-lowest), so this issue has been more about the types of throws he is making.

Love is 23rd in expected completion rate (64.5%).

He is back to taking more vertical shots like he was early last season before Green Bay reined him in.

40.4% of his throws are 10 yards or further downfield (third), and 15.8% are 20 yards or further downfield (15th).

Over his final 11 games last season, those rates were 32.6% and 12.4%.

Love is also getting blitzed more than any passer in the league (38.3%).

When blitzed, Love is 29th in the league in rating (56.2) ahead of only Andy Dalton, Will Levis, and Anthony Richardson.

Love has completed 57.8% of his passes versus the blitz (23rd) for 4.5 yards per attempt (28th) with 2 touchdowns and 3 interceptions.

When he has not been blitzed, he has a 105.3 rating (6th), a league-high 9.7 yards per attempt, 6 touchdowns, and 2 interceptions.

The Packers course-corrected things along the way last season, so I believe they can get things back on track with Love playing efficient football.

For fantasy, he still has been good (his lowest week has been QB14), which was the case a year ago before his takeoff.

This would be a great place to start correcting many of the issues.

Love is a QB1 with added upside, should this game provide some back-and-forth action.

Arizona is 16th in the league in blitz rate (25.5%) and 27th in pressure rate (27.7%).

When they have not pressured the opposing passer, the Cardinals are allowing a 74.6% completion rate (26th), 8.0 yards per attempt (23rd), and a 5.3% touchdown rate (23rd).

The Cardinals are 22nd in passing points allowed per attempt (0.456), but similar to the Rams last week, Arizona is only facing 27.6 pass attempts per game, the fourth-fewest in the league.

Kyler Murray: Murray bounced back from two down weeks to finish as QB5 (24.1 points) against the 49ers.

He only threw for 6.5 yards per attempt with 9.8 passing points, but Murray’s legs did some damage.

He rushed for 83 yards including opening the game with a 50-yard house call.

That was the second-longest run of his career.

We have needed Murray’s legs to carry things since he has not thrown for more than 6.5 yards per attempt or multiple touchdown passes against anyone outside his game against the Rams.

If the entire fantasy plane were built out of the first quarter, Murray would be competing for QB1 overall.

In the first quarter of games, Murray is 29-of-35 (82.9%) for 10.3 yards per attempt (2nd in the league) with 5 touchdowns and 0 interceptions.

After the opening quarter, he has completed 65-of-103 (63.1%) of his passes for 5.9 yards per attempt (27th) with 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions.

I would love to see this passing game be more creative, but that also could be a chicken or egg problem.

Murray always has his legs as an out for fantasy, averaging 6.1 rushing points per game (QB5).

That keeps him in play as a boom-or-bust QB1.

This matchup should be solid for him on paper to play for the upside angle.

Green Bay is predicated on creating pressure, something they have not done consistently.

The Packers are 19th in pressure rate (34.7%).

When they have not pressured the opposing passer, the Packers allow 8.2 yards per attempt (26th) and a 7.0% touchdown rate (30th).

Green Bay has allowed 4.8 yards per attempt (10th) with a 0.0% touchdown rate when getting pressure.
