The first round of the 2026 NFL Draft is in the books, so let's turn our attention to Day 2.

Here's a look at how Rounds 2 and 3 could potentially play out with a few notes on what to expect.

  • The biggest Day 2 storyline is Jermod McCoy‘s fall. He was viewed as a potential top 10 pick, but teams have been scared off by his knee injury. Under similar circumstances last year, Will Johnson fell to the Cardinals at No. 47. That's probably around where McCoy comes off the board.
  • Could we go through the entire second round without a quarterback or running back selected? Jadarian Price sneaking into the first round makes that a likely scenario.
  • There could be a deep run on wide receivers in the second round. I have six coming off the board, starting with Denzel Boston, who was widely viewed as a potential first-round selection.

  • Finally, some quarterbacks and running backs come off the board, but only one at each position. Garrett Nussmeier probably has the best blend of NFL-readiness and upside of the remaining quarterback prospects, but there's a chance someone has fallen in love with Arkansas' Taylen Green and takes him in this frame.
  • Since his draft class is light on proven commodities, expect to see some developmental prospects come off the board earlier than usual. Memphis offensive tackle Travis Burke might be the best example of a typical Day 3 pick who could come off the board today. He has virtually no immediate value, but the traits are enticing.
  • There should be plenty of receivers still available in the third round, but most of the leftovers will have one specific role. There are a few outside possession receivers like Notre Dame's Malachi Fields and a couple of gadget weapons like Zachariah Branch and Deion Burks.
