Cowboys vs. Colts Fantasy Quarterback Preview
Dak Prescott (TRUST)
Prescott underwhelmed in a home matchup against Arizona in the box score, but he still posted a QB9 (19.8 points) scoring week for gamers.
Prescott threw for only 195 yards (6.7 yards per pass attempt) and 1 touchdown, but he added 20 yards and a rushing touchdown to boost him into low-end QB1 range.
The Cowboys are still a top-10 team in scoring this season, but their passing game has been inconsistent.
Prescott is averaging 6.8 yards per pass attempt, which would match a career low in a season.
He has thrown for 1 or fewer touchdowns in five of his past six games.
Prescott ranks 16th in passing points per dropback (0.39).
Dak is the QB5 in expected points per game, leaving fantasy meat on the bone.
Dallas has adjusted a bit around some of those shortcomings.
The Cowboys have been run-heavy the past two games, throwing the ball below pass-rate expectations in both.
Those are the only two games they have been below pass-rate expectations this season.
While Prescott has been a little disappointing, he has another great outlook this week to get on track.
The Colts have already signaled that they are looking to the future and beyond this season.
Indianapolis is allowing 15.6 passing points per game (24th), 7.9 yards per pass attempt (27th), 12.8 yards per completion (30th), and a 6.1% touchdown rate (27th).
Defensively, they are 27th in pressure rate (30.9%).
When they have not gotten to the quarterback, they have allowed 11 passing touchdowns with zero interceptions.
Prescott has a 6% touchdown rate from a clean pocket (9th) and has thrown 13 touchdown passes when kept clean (tied for 5th).
Daniel Jones
Jones did not make it through a blowout loss to the Jaguars last week.
He has now scored single-digit fantasy points in five of eight games, with only one week finishing in the top-20 in weekly scoring.
Jones has not thrown multiple touchdown passes in any game this season, completing 60.4% of his passes (25th) for 5.8 yards per pass attempt (29th). 9.5 yards per completion (28th), a 1.9% touchdown rate (30th), and a 3.4% interception rate (28th).
Jones has faced a tough schedule so far, but he has left good matchups against Washington (7.9 points) and Tennessee (13.8 points) on the table.
That makes it hard to chase Jones as a streamer in 1QB formats this week and is more of a matchup-based QB2.
You are letting the matchup drive the cart here since the vibes are low surrounding the Colts.
Dallas has allowed 16.5 passing points per game (26th), a 66.5% completion rate (28th), 7.5 yards per attempt (23rd), and a 5.8% touchdown rate (24th).
Gardner Minshew came in last week for just over one quarter and was the QB10 (19.5 points) against Dallas.
