Week 12 Prediction: Austin Ekeler More Than 18.5 Receiving Yards
The last few weeks for Austin Ekeler haven’t reflected his usage in the passing game.
From Week 1 to Week 6, he had 22+ receiving yards in every game.
Then against the Panthers, with Jayden Daniels getting injured and a backup Marcus Mariota entering, he had just 3 receiving yards.
From that game through Week 10, the Commanders were dealing with either an injured Daniels playing while hurt or an injured Brian Robinson missing action.
While Robinson’s absence might seem like a great opportunity for Ekeler, he got more work on the ground and less traditional work through the air.
And so in three of those four games, he had 7 or fewer receiving yards.
With Robinson back last week, Ekeler was back to single digit rushing attempts (2), and they focused on getting him the ball through the air.
He had 8 catches for 89 yards in a negative game state.
We won’t get a negative game state here, but we will have both Robinson and Daniels healthy.
Dallas gave up 44 receiving yards to Joe Mixon last week after allowing Bijan Robinson 59 two weeks prior.
10 RBs have hit 19+ receiving yards through 10 games against the Cowboys.
