Week 12 Prediction: Bucky Irving More Than 50.5 Rushing Yards
It has been a while since the Bucs faced an objectively bad run defense.
Since playing the Saints in Week 6, the Bucs have:
- Faced the #1 Chiefs run defense
- Faced the #2 Ravens run defense
- Faced the #9 49ers run defense
- Faced the #20 Falcons run defense
- Had a bye week
As a result, Bucky Irving hasn’t had much opportunity to run. The Bucs also lost all 4 of those games, so the game state was poor.
Against the Falcons, he put up 44 rushing yards on just 9 attempts, but the Bucs led for only 3 minutes the entire game and trailed by 7 to 14 points the entire second half.
The Giants rank #30 against the run despite playing a bad schedule of run offenses.
Chuba Hubbard went for 153 in their last game. The Commanders were down their RB1, but Chris Rodriguez Jr. still gained 52 yards on just 11 rushes (4.7 YPC). Najee Harris hit 114 with Jaylen Warren adding 46 on 9 touches (5.1 YPC) for good measure. And the week before that, Saquon Barkley ripped them for 176 yards.
With Todd Bowles suggesting Bucky has earned more touches, this is a good spot for him to pay those off into yards, assuming the staff is true to their word.
