Week 12 Prediction: J.K. Dobbins Less Than 50.5 Rushing Yards
Last week, we played and won expecting J.K. Dobbins would have fewer than 14.5 rushing attempts.
What I expected was Gus Edwards getting into the mix to reduce Dobbins' workload, and that was accurate.
What I didn’t expect was the Chargers leading 24-6 in the second quarter and having an insanely great game state to run the ball the entire second half.
Even against the #16 run defense of the Bengals in a perfect game state, Dobbins barely cleared 50 rushing yards.
Now he’s going up against a pass funnel defense of the Ravens that ranks #2 against the run and #19 against the pass.
The Gus Bus hasn’t gone anywhere, but the game state will be worse and the run defense will be much better.
The only games Dobbins has hit over 50 rushing yards were games they either led by 17+ points at halftime or won by over 10 points.
Both are less likely outcomes, and against the Ravens' #1 defense when he’s sharing carries with Edwards, I see Dobbins falling less than 50.5 rush yards.
