Quarterback

Josh Allen: Entering Sunday, Allen was coming off the best two-game stretch for a fantasy quarterback ever and pushed gamers into the fantasy playoffs.

He pulled the rug entirely for many of them, turning in his worst fantasy game of the season since Week 4.

Allen ended the week QB26 (11.2 points), completing 55.2% of his passes for 5.3 yards per attempt, his lowest rate in a game since Week 5.

He added 30 rushing yards, but it wasn’t enough.

Allen said that he took a helmet to his funny bone, which impacted his grip on the ball for a period of the game, but the long-term concerns about any injury to his throwing hand are minor.

Allen has built up enough fantasy equity that it will not change how we handle him as a fantasy QB1, but the timing of his outing could not have been worse.

If you survived last week with him as your fantasy passer, he runs into a familiar opponent this weekend in another spot as a heavy home favorite.

This should be another game environment that does not push Buffalo and Allen toward the incredible ceiling he held in Weeks 14-15, but Allen was QB5 (24.4 points) when these teams faced in Week 6.

That was a healthier New York defense that was playing better football.

The Jets have allowed a top-10 fantasy quarterback in four of their past five games.

Since these teams met, the Jets have allowed 7.3 yards per pass attempt (20th), but they have held passers to a 3.5% touchdown rate (5th).

Where they have had major issues is with mobile quarterbacks.

The Jets are 29th in rushing points allowed to quarterbacks (4.8 per game).

They have allowed 7 rushing touchdowns to quarterbacks, the second-most in the league.

Anthony Richardson (32 yards and 2 touchdowns), Kyler Murray (21 yards and 2 touchdowns), C.J. Stroud (59 yards), and Drake Maye (46 yards and a touchdown) have all added significant rushing points to their totals against New York over the back half of the year.

Allen ran for 18 yards and a touchdown when these teams played and has been running more as the season progressed.

He has rushed for 50.5 yards per game over his past six games.

Aaron Rodgers: After back-to-back QB1 scoring weeks, Rodgers cooled back down on Sunday.

He ended the week as QB22 (12.8 points), throwing for 6.1 Y/A and a touchdown against the Rams.

This is a spot where Rodgers is stuck in QB2 territory.

The Jets are major road underdogs with a team total of under 20 points.

Buffalo has allowed only three QB1 scorers all season.

When these teams met in Week 6, Rodgers was solid. That can provide some floor appeal for 2QB gamers.

In that game, he was QB15 (17.8 points), throwing for 294 yards (8.4 Y/A) with 2 touchdowns.

He did have a touchdown pass on a Hail Mary to end the first half of that game, but he also did not yet have Davante Adams, who has been hot.
