Quarterback

Jarrett Stidham: Stidham is starting this Sunday for multiple reasons on the surface and likely multiple reasons under the hood.

There were rumors that this was to “preserve financial flexibility” since a major injury could impact Wilson’s contract vesting in March, but there was also commentary this was to spark the team, which is still technically not eliminated from the postseason.

Wilson threw for 238 yards and two touchdowns Sunday night with 154 of those yards and both touchdowns coming in the fourth quarter.

Stidham was in a similar spot a year ago when he took over for Derek Carr to close the year for the Raiders.

In those two starts, Stidham was QB3 (26.0 points) and QB14 (13.8 points).

We are not going to stream Stidham in 1QB finals, but he does become a matchup-based option in 2QB formats.

The Chargers are 29th in fantasy points allowed per game to quarterbacks (19.4). They have allowed a QB1 scorer in five of their past seven games.

Stidham may not have Courtland Sutton for this game, and we do need some pushback from the Chargers.

Denver had a dropback rate of 54.5% when these teams played in Week 14, their fourth-lowest rate of the season.

The Broncos have a 43.7% dropback rate in the second half of games with the lead, 22nd in the league.

Easton Stick: Stick has been QB13 (17.4 points) and QB16 (17.1 points) for fantasy in his first two career starts.

He only threw for 215 yards (6.5 Y/A) without a touchdown on Saturday night against the Bills, but the team finally started to use his legs a bit as he added 25 yards and a touchdown on the ground.

As a road underdog attached to one of the lowest team totals of the week, Stick is still only an option for 2QB formats.

Denver has allowed one QB1 scorer since Week 6, but they have allowed multiple passing touchdowns in each of their past two games after allowing one or fewer in six straight games.
