  • Sunday was the first Tennessee loss without allowing an offensive touchdown since 2017.
  • Tennessee had a 32.8% success rate per play offensively in Week 1, 26th in the league.
  • The Titans averaged 16.8 yards per possession in Week 1 (28th), their fewest in a game since Week 3 of last season.
  • 42.6% of the Tennessee yards were via passing in Week 1, ahead of only the Patriots (41.4%).
  • The Jets had an 18.2% pressure rate (30th) in Week 1 after posting a 40.3% pressure rate in 2023 (5th).

Trust = spike production for that player

Quarterback

Aaron Rodgers: Making his first appearance since the season opener a year ago, Rodgers ended the week as QB26 (8.6 points) before exiting late in the fourth quarter.

Rodgers completed 13 of 21 passes for 167 yards (8.0 Y/A) with a touchdown and interception.

27.3% of his dropbacks resulted in a play with -1.0 EPA or worse, ahead of only Caleb Williams in Week 1.

With next to no mobility, there is not much fantasy upside here unless we run into a great matchup or a strong game environment.

For now, he remains a QB2.

Rodgers threw one pass from outside of the pocket on Monday night.

The Jets lacked creativity under Nathaniel Hackett in the opener. They used motion on 31.8% of Rodgers’ dropbacks (27th).

The positive news is that Rodgers’ release and the new offensive line did hold up.

Rodgers was only pressured against a good defense on 22.7% of his dropbacks, fifth in the league.

His 2.33 seconds to throw was the fastest in the league in Week 1.

We should expect the Tennessee defense to be better this season based on their additions.

That said, it is hard to gauge how much of their Week 1 performance was credited to them or facing a rookie quarterback and Shane Waldron.

Tennessee allowed 5.7 passing points in Week 1, sixth in the league.

Will Levis: Levis was a strong reminder not to overcount the preseason.

He averaged only 4.0 yards per pass attempt (29th) against the Bears. Only 10.5% of his dropbacks resulted in a play that generated 1.0 EPA or more, the lowest rate for any quarterback in Week 1. His -0.48 EPA per dropback was the worst in the league in Week 1.

He threw arguably the worst interception we will see this season, but with 17 more weeks there may be more “hold my beer” moments given the league’s quarterback landscape.

The Titans and Brian Callahan did attempt to reign Levis in.

After he had a league-high 10.5 air yards per target and a 22.4% deep throw rate as a rookie, Levis averaged 7.0 air yards per throw (14th) with a 12.5% deep target rate (12th) in Week 1.

Even if you want to give Levis a pass for playing on the road against a good Chicago pass defense, things do not get better here.

The Jets were not as strong as their peripheral stats from previous seasons (especially the pass rush), but they still only allowed 9.2 passing points to Brock Purdy in the opener.

Levis is only an option for gamers in 2QB formats.
