  • Washington has lost a league-high eight consecutive games at home, which is one short of their franchise record of nine games set over the 1993-1994 seasons.
  • Washington has scored 17 or fewer points in seven consecutive games, the longest streak in the league and their longest streak as a franchise since 2009.
  • Washington hasn’t scored a touchdown on any of their past 30 offensive possessions.
  • Washington is last in the league in percentage of offensive drives to reach the red zone (15.2%) while the Jets are 31st (18.2%).
  • 39.3% of the opponent drives against Washington have reached the red zone, the second-highest rate in the league behind Atlanta (40.9%).
  • The Jets rank 32nd in passing yardage differential per game than their opponent (minus-98.4 yards) while Washington ranks 31st (minus-60.4).
  • The Jets are allowing 4.1 yards per play on first down defensively, the fewest in the league.
  • 32.3% of the rushing attempts against the Jets have failed to gain yardage, the highest rate in the league.
  • Le’Veon Bell averages 0.38 yards before contact, the fewest for all 24 backs in the league with at least 100 carries on the season. The average for that group is 1.34 yards prior to contact.

Trust (spike production for that player)

  • Jamison Crowder: Crowder has taken over the wideout to place faith here, collecting a team-high 25% target share with Sam Darnold under center. He now has four top-20 scoring weeks in Darnold’s six starts, ranking as the WR12 in overall points at the position since Darnold returned in Week 6.  Washington has a fairly light schedule against opposing slot options, but the two better ones they faced in Sterling Shepard and Julian Edelman turned in WR15 and WR10 scoring weeks.

On the Cusp (proxy of a player’s average)

  • Terry McLaurin: McLaurin has averaged just 5.6 yards per target from Dwayne Haskins on a skimpy seven targets after averaging 10.7 yards per target from Case Keenum. While McLaurin takes a step of faith with Haskins under center, the Jets have been bad enough to opposing wideouts to swallow it. The Jets are allowing 14.1 receptions (29th) for 183.1 yards (26th) per game to opposing wideouts, with 15 touchdowns allowed to the position (tied for the most). Over the past three weeks, the Jets have been roasted by Jacksonville WRs (13-202-3), Miami WRs (15-181-3), and Giants WRs (16-232-4). That even gives Paul Richardson a pulse in the very deepest of formats.
  • Le’Veon Bell: we’ve now found out that this Jets offensive line just can’t be counted on, even in positive matchups. In back-to-back games versus the Dolphins and Giants, Bell has rushed 17 times for 66 yards and 18 times for 34 yards. The positive news is that Bell has still totaled 25 and 22 touches in those games and two top-10 scoring weeks. He gets his third straight favorable matchup here, with Washington ranking 26th in points allowed per game (27.5) to opposing backfields.

Bust (down-week production for that player’s standards)

  • WAS RBs: Washington has rushed for 1115.3 yards per game under Bill Callahan after 68.8 per game prior. But the team is getting back Derrius Guice which compromises the 20.0 touches per game Adrian Peterson has averaged in the four games since Callahan took over. We also have an outside chance of getting Chris Thompson back this week, who hasn’t played since Week 6 due to turf toe. The Jets have been excellent versus the run, ranking first in expected points added via their run defense (56.2) and rank fourth in rushing yardage allowed per game (67.2 yards) to opposing backfields.

If You Must (intriguing bench option or deeper league play)

  • Dwayne Haskins: Haskins was the QB27 in his first career start against the Bills in Week 9. So far in limited work, Haskins is averaging just 6.5 yards per pass attempt and 13.5 passing yards per drive. There are more reliable streaming options out there, but the Jets have allowed three top-5 scoring weeks to the likes of Gardner Minshew (23.2 points), Ryan Fitzpatrick (23.7), and Daniel Jones (30.3).
  • Sam Darnold: Darnold had his highest-scoring game of the season (21.7 points) last week against the Giants, but it’s worth noting that 8.5 of his fantasy points came from his legs after having zero rushing points on the season. Washington is 16th in passing points allowed per game (14.7), but are 23rd in touchdown rate allowed to opposing passers (5.3%).
  • Other Jets WRs: Since Darnold returned in Week 6, Demaryius Thomas has out-targeted Robby Anderson 30-to-29, catching 20 passes for 270 yards while Anderson has 13 receptions for 222 yards. Anderson still leads the entire receiving corps in air yards (424) over that span, but has just one top-40 scoring week now on the season.
