Which NFL teams play the fastest? Our pace stats keep track of how fast each offense plays, both in neutral situations and when trailing.
The table below covers seconds per play, plays per game, no-huddle rate, plays per drive and time of possession, and it filters by season, week, quarter, down, venue, and score.
The tool is free and is updated throughout the season.
Use the tempo view to see how quickly a team snaps it, and use the volume view to see how many snaps that tempo actually produces.

How to Use The NFL Pace Tool
This NFL pace tool is a great resource for both bettors and fantasy players.
Knowing which teams play the fastest helps identify the games each week that are likely to feature the most plays and the most points.
On the other hand, knowing which teams play the slowest can identify games to avoid for daily fantasy or unders to target when betting.
Play Clock Used vs. Seconds Per Play
While seconds between plays is a good measure of pace, we chose to use the play clock as our starting point since that is fully in the offense's control.
Using play clock isolates how long the offense took from the time the ball was set to the time of the snap, which is a better indication of intent.
Neutral Pace & Pass Rate
Our neutral pace metric is the best measure of offensive intent.
It only covers plays in the first three quarters when the game is within 14 points and excludes the final two minutes of the first half.
This neutral definition strips out garbage time and most of the late-half situations that would push teams to increase their pace.
Gear Change
Our gear change metric measures the difference between a team's neutral pace and what happens when they are trailing.

Clicking on a team name opens an extra section.
That section shows the team's data both over time and compared to league averages.
