  • The Dolphins are the only team in the league that has yet to run an offensive play with a lead this season.
  • Miami has allowed 15 more offensive touchdowns than they have scored, the largest differential in the league. The next closest team (the Jets) is at minus-7.
  • Miami is allowing a league-high 7.3 yards per play on defense.
  • The Dolphins have converted a league-low 20% of their third downs for first downs. League average outside of them is 40%.
  • The Dolphins have allowed 624 rushing yards, their most as a franchise through three games of any season.
  • Keenan Allen has been targeted on 33.1% of his routes, the highest rate among wide receivers in the league.
  • Allen is the first player to have eight or more receptions in each of the first three weeks of the season since Antonio Brown in 2015.

Trust (spike production for that player)

  • Philip Rivers: Third in the league in passing yards through weeks, Rivers draws a Miami defense that has allowed the QB1, QB4, and QB7 through three weeks.
  • Keenan Allen: Not only does he lead all wideouts in targets (42), receptions (29) and yardage (404) through three weeks, but he’s being used downfield more than ever. Allen’s 11.8 average depth target would be a career-high. He hasn’t had an aDOT over 9.3 yards since his rookie season in 2013 (10.4).
  • Austin Ekeler: We finally saw Ekeler’s rushing role get siphoned a bit. Ekeler played a season-low 65.3% of the snaps in Week 3 and had 50% of the team rushing attempts after 63% through two weeks. That said, he still had 16 touches and 81 yards while running 29 pass routes.  With Justin Jackson already ruled out, Melvin Gordon is going to be active and used on a “limited” basis per the Chargers. Early this summer, Ezekiel Elliott reported four days prior to Week 1 and started and received 14 touches. That could be a relatively high-end mark for Gordon -and would lower Ekeler’s workload -but he’s in play as volatile FLEX option. Miami is allowing a league-high 213.3 yards from scrimmage per game to opposing backs.

Bust (down-week production for that player’s standards)

  • Josh Rosen: In just as dire of a situation that he played in as a rookie, Rosen completed just 46.2% of his passes for 200 yards (5.1 yards per attempt) in his first start of the season for a QB30 finish.

If You Must (intriguing bench option or deeper league play

  • Justin Jackson: Coming off a season-high 28 snaps and nine touches, there should be enough meat on the bone here for Jackson to get into FLEX territory. Miami is dead last in allowing 25.8 rushing points and 213.3 yards from scrimmage per game to opposing backfields. The past two weeks have seen Tony Pollard (RB7) and Rex Burkhead (RB35) turn in solid fantasy lines cleaning up against the Dolphins.
  • Kenyan Drake: He’s worked his way into floor FLEX status with RB29 and RB35 scoring weeks as he’s out-touched Kalen Ballage 26-14 the past two weeks.
  • Preston Williams: Williams received a team-leading 12 targets, but reeled in just a third of them for a 4-68 line (WR46). He led the team in air yardage (129). DeVante Parker has stacked hollow air yardage and has been out-targeted by Jakeem Grant in each of the past two games.
  • Sean Culkin/Dontrelle Inman: With injuries to Mike Williams and Travis Benjamin, Culkin and Inman are dart throws for those needy in the deepest leagues. Culkin had just one target last week, but ran 27 pass routes.
