  • Detroit games average 134.6 combined offensive snaps per game, the most in the league.
  • Detroit ranks 31st in non-passing fantasy points allowed per game (85.5) while the Raiders rank 29th (83.1).
  • The Lions are allowing 433.1 fantasy yards per game, 31st in the league.
  • Detroit ranks 31st in red zone plays faced by their opponent (89), 29th in plays from inside of the 10-yard line (43), and 32nd in plays from inside of the 5-yard line (29).
  • Oakland ranks 31st in expected points added via their pass defense (minus-107.7).
  • Matthew Stafford has completed a pass of 20-plus yards on 20.5% of his completions, the highest rate in the league.
  • 21.3% of the completions allowed by the Raiders this season have gone for 20 or more yards, 30th in the league.

Trust (spike production for that player)

  • Matthew Stafford: Stafford gets another defense that is prone to defending the deep ball. He leads the league in depth of target (11.4 yards) while the Raiders are 30th in defensive aDOT faced (10.2 yards). Oakland is 32nd in the league in passing points allowed (21.9) and have allowed a league-high nine pass touchdowns from outside of the red zone.
  • Josh Jacobs: Jacobs is eighth among all backs in yards from scrimmage per game (103.1). He still could use more work in the passing game, but is averaging 4.4 receiving points per game over the past four games. Detroit is a giving defense in all capacities to backs, ranking 28th in rushing points allowed (16.9) and 32nd in receiving points allowed (15.4) per game.
  • Darren Waller: The touchdown seal has been broken with three scores the past two games. Waller has over 25% of the team targets in four of the past five games while the Lions are 28th in yardage allowed per game (63.6) and 27th in yards allowed per target (8.9) to the position.
  • Kenny Golladay: Golladay has eight or more targets in every game but one this season with at least 25% of the team looks in five of the past six weeks. Oakland ranks 25th in points allowed per game to opposing WR1 options (17.5).

On the Cusp (proxy of a player’s average)

  • Tyrell Williams: Even though he has just three receptions in each of his past three games played, Williams now has a touchdown in all five games played this season. Detroit is 24th in receptions allowed per game (13.4) to wideouts.
  • Marvin Jones: Jones doesn’t have the target consistency of Golladay, receiving five or fewer targets in three of the past four weeks surrounding that huge spike week of 10-93-4 two weeks ago. Even on low volume, Jones can hit here given the types of targets he gets. Jones has reeled in 11-of-17 targets on throws 15 yards or further downfield this season.

Bust (down-week production for that player’s standards)

  • Lions RBs: The Lions went with a buckshot approach last week in their first game without Kerryon Johnson. Ty Johnson led the team with 25 snaps, Tra Carson played 19, and J.D. McKissic played 16 with Carson handling 12 touches to eight for Johnson and three for McKissic. The Lions as a whole are struggling to run the ball, so the timeshare isn’t even a desirable one to get right at the moment. Just 17.7% of the yardage gained by the Lions the past three weeks has come via rushing, 31st in the league. Oakland is ninth in rushing points allowed per game (10.6), but are 29th in receiving points allowed per game (13.8) to backfields. If you have to chase a receiver, Johnson ran 15 pass routes last week while McKissic ran 14 and Carson just five.

If You Must (intriguing bench option or deeper league play)

  • Derek Carr: He had his first QB1 scoring game last week and has now averaged 10.5 and 9.5 yards per pass attempt over the past two weeks. He gets another favorable matchup here against a Lions pass defense that ranks 27th in passing points allowed per game (19.5) and have allowed a top-12 scorer in six of seven games this season.
  • Danny Amendola: Amendola has received 24.4% and 25.0% of the team targets the past two weeks, catching eight passes in each game for 105 and 95 yards. Oakland is 25th in points allowed to slot wideouts this season.
  • T.J. Hockenson: Hockenson has just 13 receptions for 109 yards over his past six games and has been relegated to a touchdown-or-bust option at the position. Hockenson is tied for second among all tight ends with five end zone targets while the Raiders have allowed six touchdowns to the position, the second-most in the league.
