Trust = spike production for that player
Quarterback
Brock Purdy: Operating down Deebo Samuel, George Kittle, and Christian McCaffrey on Sunday, Purdy was excellent.
Yes, it was the Rams defense, but Purdy did more than have a good game. He connected on 73.3% of his passes for 9.7 yards per pass attempt and 3 touchdowns.
He added 41 yards rushing to a QB5 (25.8 points) week.
Purdy has completed 72.6% of his passes (QB7) for 8.9 yards per attempt (QB2).
He is the only quarterback this season to pass for at least 8.0 yards per attempt in all three weeks.
Purdy has a league-high 30 completions on throws 10 or more yards downfield.
The next closest quarterback has 19.
San Francisco will get back Deebo Samuel and George Kittle this weekend.
Purdy is a fringe QB1 fantasy option, we are just looking for some push from the New England side.
If the Patriots play like they did in Week 3 as opposed to Weeks 1-2, Purdy will have his ceiling of being a top scorer at the position capped, but New England has allowed QB1 scoring weeks to Geno Smith (17.1 points) and Aaron Rodgers (21.0 points) the past two weeks.
Anything in that area would be a comfortable floor.
Jacoby Brissett: Things are going as expected for Brissett, and we are officially on Drake Maye watch.
Brissett has averaged 5.3 yards per pass attempt (28th) with just 1 touchdown to open the season.
Brissett has 4 completions on throws 10 or more yards downfield, the fewest in the league.
We saw Maye come in and close last week’s game, something we could easily see again if this game ends up one sided.
After putting up a fight in Weeks 1-2, the Patriots looked like the team many projected entering the season in Week 3.
They could not do anything offensively last Thursday, averaging a league-worst 2.9 yards per play.
Brissett is a thin starter, even in 2QB formats.
However, this San Francisco defense has been lackluster to open the season.
If they cannot stop the Patriots here, there will be cause for concern.
The 49ers are 28th in passing points allowed per attempt (0.546).
