Trust = spike production for that player

Quarterback

Derek Carr: Just as Carr began gaining momentum again, he took another step back.

That has been the story of this season.

After scoring 20.5 points against Atlanta and 18.7 points against Cleveland, Carr ended last week as QB23 (14.6 points).

He threw for a season-low 5.0 yards per pass attempt.

Carr is stuck as QB2 for fantasy gamers because the surrounding skill players are still lacking outside of Alvin Kamara.

But for those who have to use him in 2QB formats or are forced to stream him in the worst bye week for starting fantasy quarterbacks of the season, there are some positives here.

Erik McCoy and Lucas Patrick are expected to return to the lineup this week.

With McCoy on the field this season, Carr has completed 78.3% of his passes for 10.9 yards per pass attempt and a 10% touchdown rate.

The crux of that sample comes from the opening two weeks of the season when the Saints also had a healthy wide receiver room, but Carr did score 18.7 fantasy points in McCoy’s other full game this season when the pass catchers were limited.

The matchup is also favorable for streaming purposes.

The Giants are a boom-or-bust pass defense that relies on pressure.

When they pressured the opposing quarterback, they allowed a 39.1% completion rate (2nd) and a league-low 4.3 yards per pass attempt.

Without pressure, they have allowed a league-high 79.9% completion percentage and 8.6 Y/A (30th).

Tying into that, Dexter Lawrence will miss the rest of the season.

Lawrence is second on the team with 36 pressures, 20.1% of the Giants' season total.

Lawrence’s 9 sacks were sixth in the NFL among defensive linemen and led the team.

Giants QB: We are waiting to know whether Tommy DeVito or Drew Lock will start this week.

Lock did something hard to do Thanksgiving, which is to have a bottom-end scoring week with double-digit rushing points.

Even with 57 yards and a rushing touchdown, Lock ended the week as QB22 (14.8 points).

He threw for only 178 yards with an interception, averaging 5.6 yards per pass attempt.

Lock was pressured on 51.2% of his dropbacks.

DeVito was pressured on 43.6% of his dropbacks in Week 12, the third-highest rate for a passer in Week 12.

That raises the Giants' pressure rate with Andrew Thomas off the field to 42.9%, the highest rate in the league.

Whoever draws the start here is a back-end QB2 for fantasy purposes.

The Saints are not a team to hide from, but they have allowed only three QB1 scoring weeks.
